2 Corinthians :1-11
The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.
About the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers.
Paul thanks God for his special goodness during recent trials. His suffering has had two wholly good side-effect:1)the experience of Gods comfort in all 2) A new ability to help and comfort those in similar circumstances.
Why?
Paul suffered distress is for the truth and the gospel, the faith and the hope under such hardship he suffered was rely on the God, this experience shows the compassion of God and deliver them, so the comfort of God will continue comfort those Christian suffer other distress.
Paul's thanks to the church in Corinth and all the saint throughout Achaia for their prayer, through prayer they experience the comfort of the Lord to Paul.
How?
The mystery of the Lord we don't fully understand, but we know that the compassion of God is firmed and we may rely on our God, through prayer the Holy Spirit will help us. I am not alone, God is my salvation and strength.
