Jeremiah 39:1-18
In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar marched against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege to it. On the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah's eleventh year, the city wall was broken through. X/10/9 ~ 4/9/11 2 years Jerusalem was in siege.
Nebuchadnezzar released Jeremiah from courtyard, and let the commander of the guard trued him over to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, to take him back to hi home.
While Jeremiah has been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah,"Go an tell Ebed-Melech the Cushite,I am about to fulfill my words against this city through disaster, not prosperity. you will not be handed over to those you fear I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declare the Lord."
Jeremiah's terrible vision becomes a reality, God's warnings finally give way to judgment.
But even in the midst of judgment, God does not lose sight of individuals. Ebed-Melch's life is saved. He save the life of Jeremiah from the Cistern.
Why?
The Lord takes care anyone who follow his commands and who cares about God's peoples.
The Lord is worthy and faithfulness, his love endure forever.
How?
Do not afraid, the Lord will save me because I trust in Him. If I trust in the Lord I should work in the way of the Lord without fear.
Who am I? I am nobody, but I am a son of the Lord.
