Numbers 17:1-13
Get twelve staffs from them, one from the leader of each of their ancestral tribes.Write the name of each man on his staff. On the staff of Levi write Aaron’s name, for there must be one staff for the head of each ancestral tribe. Place them in the tent of meeting in front of the ark of the covenant law, where I meet with you.
The next day Moses entered the tent and saw that Aaron’s staff, which represented the tribe of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds.
Put back Aaron’s staff in front of the ark of the covenant law, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious. This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die.
The Israelites said to Moses, “We will die! We are lost, we are all lost! Anyone who even comes near the tabernacle of the Lord will die. Are we all going to die?”
Like all biblical miracles, the budding, blossoming and fruiting of Aaron's staff has a very practical point. Everyone can see where God's choice falls. There is no more room for dispute. The staff is kept in God's sanctuary as a permanent warning.
Why?
Grumbling against the Lord in Israelite was not stop so God made this staff in God's sanctuary as a permanent warning.
Aaron's staff represented the tribe of Levi, it means only Levi can come to near the sanctuary. Others come near the sanctuary will die.
Yes, we will die! we are lost if anyone comes to the Lord with sins. Jesus is the way to erase the sins to everyone who trust in Him.
How?
Fear the Lord and obey God's command, then we will be saved. For Jesus we are free from the sins.
