Ezekiel 33;1-20
Ezekiel is a watchman and his duty have to follow.
As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Way will you die, O House of Israel?
The righteous man, if he sins, will not be allowed to live because of his former righteousness.
If I say to the wicked man, You will surely die, but he then turns away from his sin and does what is just and right - if he give back what he took in pledge for a loan, returns what he has stolen, follows the decrees that five life, and does no evil, he will surely live; he will not die.
You say, the way of the Lord is not just. But I will judge each of you according to his own ways.
The watchman: These verses reiterate the teaching of two earlier passages 3:17-21; 18:5-29
Why?
Watchman have to do the warning mission to others, we all Christian are watchman, let people away from their sins and turn back to the Lord.
God does not like the death of the wicked, but like they turn from their ways and live. So God give them time and opportunity to turn back from their sins.
Righteous man has known the way what is right and wrong, but he sin against the Lord is more sever than wicked man so he will die, no because of his former righteousness.
How?
Be aware I am watchman of the Lord, be a light of the Lord among people. Keep my mission and duty before the Lord until the day I meet the Lord.
