Ezekiel 24:1-14
Woe to the city of bloodshed, to the pot now encrusted, whose deposit will not go away! Empty it piece by piece without casting logs for them.
Woe to the city of bloodshed! I, too, will pile the wood high. It was frustrated all efforts; its heavy deposit has not been removed, not even by fire.
Now your impurity is lewdness. Because I tried to cleanse you but you would not be cleansed from your impurity, you will not be clean again until my wrath against you has subsided. I the Lord have spoken. The time has come for me to act. I will not hold back; I will not have pity, nor will I relent. You will be judged according to your conduct and your actions, declares the Sovereign Lord.
The date is the same as in 2 king 25:1; Jeremiah 52:4 - usually though to be 15 Jan 588BC. Jerusalem is like a rusty cooking pot, set on the fire to burn. The behavior of the people has polluted the city. The very same day that the siege is laid.
Why?
All of this judgment to Jerusalem is wrath from the Lord so God let them know the date, and the situation of Jerusalem, for they were the city of bloodshed.
Even God tried to clean them but they would not be cleansed from their impurity, so the desolation came upon them.
God used heavy deposit pot to describe the city of Jerusalem. Babylon has laid siege to Jerusalem like pot on fire at this very date.
How?
Keep the opportunity and time to accept Jesus Christ as our savior, when the time is passed, there is not way to be saved. Every one will be judged according to our conduct and our actions.
