Cherubim and palm trees were carved on the wall of the main hall.
The north and south rooms facing the temple courtyard are the priests rooms, where the priests who approach the Lord will eat the most holy offering.
So he measured the area on all four sides. It had a wall around it, five hundred cubits long and five hundred cubits wide, to separate the holy from the common.
Why?
God build Temple step by step and each part is fixed size and decoration, whole Temple is from lower to higher, with rooms and passageway. It is like our life is built by the Lord step by step with God's plan and his way to build.
So many cubits long and cubits wide means God is care each size in our life and our inner structure.
God let us has inner temple in our heart and there is a wall around it to separate the holy from the common. We are separated from the common, we are belong to the Lord.
Palm trees symbolize life in the desert. These trees thrive in places where survival was difficult. They also could fill desolate places with beauty. They were constant reminders of God’s promise to be present with His people. To provide for them, as long as He was in the center of their lives.
Cherubim were constant reminders of His presence, and power, and how He has intervened in human history.
How?
We are palm trees and let world know we are belong to the Lord. Cherubim reminder God is presence with us.
