The Lord's Supper. Surely you don’t mean me?

Mark 14:12-31

When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me—one who is eating with me.”

They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, “Surely you don’t mean me?”

“It is one of the Twelve,” he replied, “one who dips bread into the bowl with me. The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”

“This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them. “Truly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God"

“You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, nd the sheep will be scattered.’ But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.” “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times.”

Why?

Surely you don’t mean me? In our daily life do we reject Jesus? Like disciple one of the Twelve.

Supper we keep obeying every month in the church. It reminds us we are together with Jesus through his blood and body. 

Peter answers Jesus with his mind but we have to confess we are weak, even like Peter may fall, so as we have to be strong through the Spirit of the Lord.

那家的主人是為主豫備『逾越節的筵席』，今天各地教會的負責人也是為主豫備『主的筵席』，筵席的主人是主耶穌，不是你我，所以我們沒有權利拒絕信主的人參加擘餅聚會(即所謂聖餐)

(一)主明知猶大將要出賣祂，卻仍與他同「蘸手在盤子裏」，顯出祂是何等的慈愛和包容。

          (二)今天在教會中，與我們最親近、最有交通的人，將來亦可能變成是最反對我們的。

主所關心的，不是祂自己的安危，而是賣祂者的靈魂。

人生的意義就是基督，我們若不專一愛基督，甚至為著利益──不論是屬世、屬地的，或是屬靈、屬天的，而把基督出賣了，這樣的人生實在太沒有價值了；結局是既悲慘又虛空，真是「不生在世上倒好」！

 一)不認識自己的人，常會以為自己比別人更剛強、更愛主，結果跌倒得最厲害的，往往是那些自以為剛強的人。

          (二)我們各人總要看別人比自己強(腓二3)。

          (三)凡自己以為站得穩的，須要謹慎，免得跌倒. 

How?

Without Jesus I can do nothing, Please give us the strength and mind to obey God'w command.
