Philippians 3:1-21
Rejoice in the Load.
Watch out those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh.
What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Load, for those sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him.
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press to toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ, their god is their stomach, their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven.
Paul does not mind repeating former advice, as a safeguard.
Why?
Dog, a term of abuse by Jews about Gentiles. The Judaizers, they insisting that Gentile converts must be circumcised and keep the law. They are in fact altering the whole basis of salvation, making it 'by faith and...', instead of 'by faith only': hence Paul's anger.
Paul does not believe that God rewards those who o his will and serve him well on earth, God does not operate a credit an debit account.
Do what can I do in this situation, do want to do beyond my situation or admire the things beyond my limitation, unless it is the way of God.
Forgetting what is behind an straining toward what is ahead, remind us go forward, don't look back, or proud of what I have done. To be a perfect man id defined by the Load.
How?
Do my best to earn the pride from the Load Jesus Christ and following Paul's example. Preparing myself waiting for Savior. If the Load comes down today, does I am ready?
