Ruth 1:1-5
Time:In the day when the judges rules, there was a famine in the land.
Who: A man Elimelech, hos wife Naomi, from Bethlehem of Judah went to Moab to live a while.
They went there had lived about ten years, Elimelech is died, his two sons married Moabites women Orpah an Ruth.
His two sons also died, and Naomi was left without her two sons and her husband.
Why?
Most of the Israelite remain lived in their own land, Elimelech walked their own way tried to find better living environment, but they did not live better than before.
The book of Ruth makes it clear that the personal faith of many in Israel remained strong.
Ruth is special in giving us the woman's perspective. In the society of the time women were wholly dependent on their fathers and husbands for provision. So the tale begins with three women who, in human terms, are object of pity, dependent on charity. What it goes on to reveal is, astonishingly in a context where religions meant power, God's special concern for the 'helpless'.
God is intimately concerned in humble affairs. One who orders all the circumstances of daily life, even the most unimportant people.
The new found faith of a Moabite girl, and her sacrificial love for her mother-in-law are woven into the great tapestry of God's plan of salvation.
How?
God concerned everyone of us in the world, He help the humble people. Don't worry about the disaster or distress, pray to the Load, He is the way, the life and the truth.
