1 King 15:1-24
Abijah succeeded Rehoboam as king of Judah in the 18 years of the reign of Jeroboam.
He committed all the sins his father had done before. Nevertheless, for David's sake the Lord gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong.
Asa became king of Judah in the 20 year of Jeroboam and reigned in Jerusalem 41 years.
Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done. He expelled the male shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his father has done. Even deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive Asherah pole.
Asa's heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life.
There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel throughout their reigns. Asa took all the silver and god that was left in the treasuries of the Lord's temple and of hos own palace. He sent them to Ben-Hadad, the king of Aram, "Let there be a treaty between me and you," he said, he asked Aram break treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from Judah.
Asa in his old age, his feet becam diseased.
Why?
In costs him all the silver and gold, but diverts Basha attention and buys Asa time to improve his own defense.
For the sake of David, the Lord gave a lamp in Jerusalem, so Asa's heart turned to the Lord in that worse situation.
People is easy to do evil thing, and uneasy to do the righteous thing. Unless the Lord put pure heart in his heart. All the man in the world is sinner.
How?
Commit our sin to the Lord and pray to other people around me, let the Lord change their heart to the Lord. This is our obligation and mission from the Lord.
The Lord blesses the sons of righteous man to many generations.

Honor the name of the Lord is a blessing of a kingdom
1 King 14:21-31
Rehoboam was king in Judah. His mother was an Ammonite.
Judah did evil in the eyes of the Lord. The people engaged in all the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.
I the fifth of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem. He carried off the treasures of the temple of the Lord and the treasures of the royal palace He took everything, including all the gold shields Solomon had made.
There was continual warfare between Rehoboam an Jeroboam.
Why?
For father did an evil thing, so as son, Rehoboam followed his father and Solomon married Ammonite, his mother taught son do the same evil things. The spiritual environment was worse.
The gold shield is an symbol of rich of Solomon, for their sins, the Lord let king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem and carried off all the treasures of the temple of the Lord.
The Lord even allowed his temple be attacked by Egyptian for the sin of Judah.
The temple is an symbol of the Lord, but the requirement is the people should be walked on the way of the Lord.
The weaken state loses the Temple treasures to the invading Egyptian pharaoh, and north and south are constantly at war.
How?
When the situation of spirit is weaken, then many attacks or disasters are coming for the blessing of the Lord is away from evil doing man.
When a kingdom is weakening, his righteous people will feel frustrated on the right thing, who don't like to pay more effort on the right things for no one will appreciate their efforts. It is same to a church.

When I know than I should do it
1 King 14:1-20
The Lord warned Jeroboam third times when he asked his wife went to prophet Ahijah for his son was ill.
Jeroboam knew the Lord let him be king of Israel, he knew the Lord will say something about the future through his prophet.
Ahijah could not see; his sight was gone because of his age. The Lord told Ahijah who will come, so even Ahijah could not see, but he know who is coming, and what will happen to his family.
The son of Jeroboam dead when Jeroboam's wife stepped over the threshold of the house. Who will be buried because he is the only one in the house of Jeroboam in whom the Lord, the God of Israel, has found anything good.
Jeroboam have done more evil than all who lived before him He have made for himself other gods, idols made of metal; he provoked God to anger and thrust the Lord behind his back.
Why?
Jeroboam knew the Lord have done everything on his, he knew the Lord warned him he has done evil things, but Jeroboam still won't turn back to the Lord, he was concerning his kingdom only.
Bible's writer described Jeroboam very seriously for what he has done.
A righteous man could die more early for he Lord doesn't let him suffer too much pain and disaster in the world. The son of Jeroboam dead is the only one could be buried and be mourned.
Ahijah could not see because of his age. We might lose our sense one day for our age. Moses is the chosen one from the Lord, he is getting older but he still can hear, can see, can listen, very healthy.
Even a blind prophet, if he is true, can see through pretence.
The kings writer is not interested in political or social history; loyalty or otherwise to God and true religion is the only measure of a king's success or failure.
How?
Don't worry too much about my health, my life is in hands of the Lord, even I have ill is the Lord permitted. When I am getting older, I have some decease is normal situation.
What I have to do is trust in the Lord and do what he commanded me.
Don't do like Jeroboam, he knew but he didn't do it.

God's words never failed and never changed
1 King 13:1-34
The Lord sent a prophet to Bethel for warning Jeroboam, "A son named Josiah will be born to the house of David On you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who now make offerings here, and human bones will be burned on you." That same day the man of god gave a sign:"The altar will be split apart and the ashes on it will be poured out."
The king want to seize the prophet, But the hand he stretched out to ward the man shrived up, so that he could not pull it back. Also the altar was split apart and its ashes poured out according to the sign given by the man of God by the word of the Lord.
But Jeroboam did not change his evil ways, let to its downfall and to its destruction from the face of the earth.
A old prophet was lying to the prophet bring him back to his house, he said to the prophet, " an angle said to me by the word of the Lord". So the prophet believed him. And after the prophet eating and drinking at the house of the old man, who went on his way, a lion met him on the road and killed him, and his body was thrown don on the road, with both the donkey and the lion standing beside the body.
Why?
The words of the Lord never changed, even the angle say anything would not change the command of the Lord has told us.
Jeroboam is neck stick king, even the Lord sent a prophet to warn him, and did miraculous signs before him.
Identify the truth depend on the word of the Lord.
The prophet's death is a sign to Jeroboam and Israel of the severity with which God deals with disobedience.
How?
Don't ignore the warning of the Lord, blessing is one who obey the word of the Lord.

All I have is the mercy of the Lord
1 Kings 12:1-33
Rehoboam rejectedt listen to the elder's advice lighten the burden of Israelite, he answered the people harshly. So all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, they answered to king: " What share do we have in David, what part in Jesse's son? To your tents, O Israel! Look after your own house, O, David!"
Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.
This fulfill the word the Lord has spoken to Jeroboam.
Rehoboam planed fight to Israel to regain the kingdom, but the word of god came to Shemaiah the man of God," Do not go up to fight against your brothers, the Israelites. Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing."
The people of Israel sent and called Jeroboam to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. Only the tribe of Judah remained loyal to the house of David.
After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves, and said to the peoples, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem, Here are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt."
Jeroboam concerned the people go back to Jerusalem, the temple of the Lord, to offer sacrifices, they will again give their allegiance to their lord. They will kill him and return to King Rehoboam.
Why?
The rebellion to Rehoboam is Lord's doing for Solomon did not obey the word of the Lord.
Jeroboam as invited and to be a king over Israel. It is done as what the Lord said to him.
Jeroboam forgot what God reminded to him, but concerned himself and his kingdom, he was seeking advises from man. He built two calves instead of the temple of the Lord at Jerusalem. Actually, Jeroboam to be a king is the Lord chose him, it is not his efforts.
The writers of kings see him always as 'bad king Jeroboam', the one who set Israel on the downward path of sin against God.
How?
Don't forget what the Lord has done upon me, and walk on the words of the Lord to save our life and be blessed.

Walk in His way and glorify His Name
1 Kings 11:20-43
The Lord raised Hadad who was living in Egypt and Eliada who ruled in Aram and was hostile toward Israel.
Jeroboam son of Nebat rebelled against the king Solomon. Solomon tried to kill Jeroboam, but Jeroboam fled to Egypt, and stayed there until Solomon's death.
The Lord said to Jeroboam through Ahijah the prophet, I am going to tear the kingdom out of Solomon's hand and give you ten tribes. But for the sake of my servant David and the city of Jerusalem, he will have one tribe. Because they have forsaken me and worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians.
The Lord said to Jeroboam , If you do whatever I command you and walk in my ways and do what is right in my eyes by keeping my statutes and commands as David, I will be with you.
Why?
The Lord chose those three peoples as an enemy of king Solomon, for he has forsaken the Lord.
Jeroboam was well one on his work when he was young. He was chosen by the Lord, he never know that he will be a king until the Lord chose him.
Solomon's reign is not wholly problem-free. In the south there is trouble from Hadah of Edom; in the north from Rezon of Damascus and within his own nation there is Jeroboam, the man destined by God to rule over the then breakaway tribes after the king death.
How?
No one knows what will be tomorrow, it is in the hand of the Lord, I don't have to worry too much or complain to something, just obey to the commands of the Lord, He will lead my way and glorify his Name.

Please teach our heart everyday
1 Kings 11:1-19
Solomon loved many foreign women besides pharaoh's daughter. They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelite, "You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your heart after their gods."
As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after others gods.
The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, who had appeared to him twice.
The Lord said to Solomon,"Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. But give him one tribe for the sake of David and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen."
Then the Lord raised up against Solomon an adversary, Hadad the Edomite from the royal line of Edom.
Why?
Turn away from the Lord when one did not obey anyone of the commands, the Lord said. It will turn our heart away from the Lord gradually.
Even the Lord had appeared to Solomon twice he still forgot it and turn away the Lord and turned after to other gods.
The Lord said to Solomon but his heart is hearten and did not turn back to the Lord.
The adversary is raised up by the permission of the Lord.
How?
The Lord knows all what we did, remember what God have done for us, and ask the Lord remind us don't let our heart turn away from the Lord.
Dear Lord, please teach my heart everyday.

Famous to his wisdom and his relation to the name of the Lord
1 Kings 10:1-29
The queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relation to the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions. Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her. She was overwhelmed by the wisdom of Solomon and his great facilities.
queen Sheba gave the king gold and large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to Solomon.
King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth. The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart. Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift-articles of silver and gold robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules
Why?
Bible described the greater in riches and wisdom that the Lord gave him.
Queen of Sheba came from the Yemen to Jerusalem. Unlike the people of Christ's day, this woman was prepared to undertake a long journey to find out for herself the truth of what she had heard.
How?
The mercy of the Lord and wisdom from the Lord is greater than other kings of the earth.

The words of the Lord is unfailing
1 Kings 9:1-28
The Lord appeared to Solomon a second time, when he had achieved all he had desired to do.
The Lord said to Solomon, " I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there."
The Lord once again said to Solomon the two consequences: 1)if you walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness, 2) if you or your sons turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them.
Solomon built the temple and the royal palace, at the end of twenty years. Solomon forced labor to do those work, all of the people left from the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusite.
Hiram had sent to the king 10 talents of gold(4.4 tons). Solomon built ships at Ezion Geber on the shore of the Red Sea. And Hiram sent hi men-sailors who knew the sea- to serve in the fleet with Solomon's men. They delivered to King Solomon 420 talents of gold (16 tons).
Three times a year Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings o the altar he had built for the Lord, burning incense before the Lord along with them.
Solomon is the first Israel's kings to create a merchant navy.
Why?
The Lord, his word never fail.
Solomon gave 20 owns in Galilee to Hiram to secure his loan.
Solomon fulfilled the temple obligation.
How?

Praise be to the Lord
1 Kings 8:31-66
Uphold the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel according to each day's need, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God and that there is no other. But your hearts must be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time.
Solomon prayed to the Lord, whoever in any situation comes to the temple or turn forward to the direction of this temple, may the Lord listen to his servant's prayer.
Judge between your servants, condemning the guilty an bring down on his own head what he has done. Declare the innocent not guilty, and so establish his innocence.
For the Lord alone knows the hearts of all men.
As for the foreigner who does not belong to Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name, when he comes and prays toward this temple, then hear from heaven so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, so do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name.
Why?
Solomon prayed for the Israelite and anyone comes to this temple, when they pray to the Lord or confess their sin, the Lord hear from them and justify them, save them.
All of these prayer and God's power is let all the peoples of the earth may know the Lords is God and that there is no other.
No only people of Israel but also foreign people may come to worship the Lord, God is the God of all people, if you turn your heart to Him.
Fully committed to the Lord, there is not any of my own mind but only follow the command of the Lord, there is not any idea from the world buteu depends on the way of the Lord, forsake all of my selfish mind and strategy.
How?
Dear heavenly father, forgive my sin and my selfish mind, please full fill you Holy spirit in my heart, please lead my way forward, I am ready to listen to your instruction. Please guide my each step forward. My life is yours, my everything is your gift. You are worthy to worship and your name be exalted. Praise be to the Lord

covenant of love
1 Kings 8:22-30
Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven and prayed.
O, Lord, God of Israel there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below.
You who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.
The Lord promised David: You shall never fail to have a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in all they do to walk before me as you have done.
But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built! Yet give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy. may your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said ' My Name shall be there'. Hear the supplication of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place.
Why?
Solomon humbled himself, even he built the temple is small, for the Lord don't have to dwell in this temple. But for his Name shall be there.
Worship God and pray to the Lord for his Name.
Solomon knew if only carefully in all you do to walk before the Lord as his father David has done, the mercy of the Lord will come upon him. But at the older age of Solomon was away from the Lord. Human being is an easy forgotten animal.
Most people cant enter the temple to pray, but pray toward this temple, it is mean turn your mind and heart to the Lord, the Lord will listen to your prayer.
How?
The Lord care about our heart and mind. Turn to the Lord and pray in his name.
I will do wholeheartedly in His way.

The glory of the Lord
1 Kings 8:1-21
King Solomon summoned into his present at Jerusalem the elders of chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord's covenant from Zion, the City of David.
They sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they could not be recorded or counted.
The priests then brought the ark of the Lord's covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple. When the priests withdraw from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.
Praise be to the Lord the God of Israel, who with his own hand has fulfilled what he promised with his own mouth to his father David. Solomon has succeeded David and sit on the throne of Israel, Solomon built the temple for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.
The ark, in which is the covenant of the Lord that he made with our fathers when he brought them out of Egypt.
Why?
The shines with the the light of God's presence- the same bright cloud that once rested on God's Tent in the desert(Exodus 40:34-38)
The Lord would dwell in a dark cloud, but for the Solomon, the Lord will dwell in his temple. But this situation did not stay longer for the sins of Israelite.
When the glory of the Lord will fill in temple? Now the temple is in our heart of each christian when we obey his commands.
How?
Keep our heart holy and obey what Jesus said, then the glory of the Lord may come upon us. let my life may glorify the name of the Lord.

Pay whole I have to build our life as temple of the Lord
1 Kings 7:1-51
Solomon took 13 years to complete the construction of his palace. He built palace of the forest of Lebanon with cedar beams.
Solomon also made a palace like this hall for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had married.
Solomon sent to Tyre and brought Huram, who was highly skilled and experienced in all kinds of bronze work. He came to king Solomon and did all the work assigned to him.
Huram cast two brone pillars, he erected the pillars at the portico of the temple. The pillars to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz. Jakin: he establishes, Boaz: in him is strength.
Huram finished all the work undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of the Lord.
Why?
Solomon used the best material and Gold and a lot of bronze to build the temple of the Lord.
Solomon built his palace even more time to his won palace.
How?
Pay all I can do for the Lord as Solomon. Build a temple of the Lord need longer time, it will take us all life to let us be the temple of the Lord.

Carry out his regulations and obey them
1 Kings 6:1-38
In the 480 year after the Israelite had come out of Egypt.
The foundation of the temple of the Lord was laid in the fourth year, in the month of Ziv. In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eight month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. It had spent seven years building it.
The temple for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty wide and thirty high.
In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard into the temple walls.
Roofing the temple with beams and cedar planks.
Solomon lined temple interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floors o the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of pine.
Solomon covered the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended god chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.
In the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood with five-side jambs.
Why?
480th year : the figure here (12x40) may indicate 12 generations rather than a precise number of years.
No noise: Even at this stage the place was regarded as holy. The stone was quarried close to the site, but so deep underground that no sound would carry.
How?
More important is carry out regulations and all commands of the Lord and obey them. The Lord will live among us and will not abandon us.

Eternal temp of the Lord is in my heart.
1 Kings 5:1-18
King of Tyre had always been on friendly terms with David, when he heard that Solomon had been anointed king to succeed his father David, he sent his envoys to Solomon.
Solomon sent message to Hiram asked king of Tyre cut cedars of Lebanon for him to build the temple for Name of the Lord.
The Lord didn't allow David to build the temple for the name of the Lord, because of the wars waged against David from all sides.
Instead Solomon provided food to king Tyre, twenty thousand cors of wheat as food for his household, in addition to twenty thousand baths of pressed olive oil. They made a treaty.
King Solomon conscripted laborers from all Israel- thirty thousand men He sent them off to Lebanon in shifts of ten thousand a month, so that they spent one month in Lebanon and two months at home. Solomon had seventy thousand carriers and eighty thousand stonecutters in the hills, as well as thirty-three hundred foremen who supervised the project and directed the workmen.
Why?
Solomon used a lots of salvers in preparation for building the Temple.
A cor of wheat= a donkey-load. A cor of oil = 48 gallons
David bled other's blood so the Lord don't let David build the Temple for God.
Solomon made a treaty has benefit for each other. This is a trade treaty.
How?
The temple is a symbol, but after Jesus came, he build temple in our heart.

Great insight, and a breadth of understanding
1 King 4:1-34
Solomon also had twelve district governors over all Israel, who supplied provisions for the king and the royal household. Each one had to provide supplies for one month in the year.
Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These countries brought tributes and were Solomon's subjects all his life. River is the Euphrates.
God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the men of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.
Solomon spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five.
Why?
In contrast to the simple regime of king David, Solomon introduced a vast bureaucracy to administer his kingdom. Th court included not only the royal family but ministers, civil servants and domestics, and must have numbered several thousand. No wonder elaborate arrangements are necessary for their maintenance.
To manage this huge country Solomon need wisdom to handle it.
How?
The wise method is necessary to handle a successful task. This wisdom come from the Lord.

Discerning heart
1 Kings 3:1-28
Solomon showed his love for the Lord by walking according to the statute of his father David, except that he offered sacrifices and burned incense on the high places.
Solomon went to Gibeon to offer sarifices, for that was the most important high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. The Lord appeared to Solomon in dream.
Solomon replied to the Lord," Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people and too numerous to count. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong."
The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. The Lord gave Solomon a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like he. Moreover God gave him what he have not asked for- both riches and honor- sothat in his lifetime he has no equal among kings.
Solomon wisely ruling the argument between two women for their dead and live children. Because Solomon had wisdom from God to administer justice, all Israel heart the verdict, they held the king in awe.
Why?
Gibeon, a ton 10km/6 mile north-west of Jerusalem.
For shrines/altars older versions have 'high places', meaning the old Cannanite shrines which the Israelites took over. It was not long before the worship of God in these places became mixed with crude pagan practices. the later prophets condemn them.
Solomon concerned about how he can be a good king, and humbled himself before the Lord and obeyed what the Lord said, so the Lord pleased him.
Discerning heart is more precious than any other gifts.
How?
If the Lord asked me what I want? How I will answer it? I will ask the wisdom also, a discerning heart to distinguish between right an wrong, let me walk in the way of the Lord.

Observe what the Lord requires
1 Kings 2:1-46
The kingdom was firmly established in hands of Solomon.
When the time drew near to dead, he gave a charge to Solomon his son. He reminded Solomon observe what the Lord requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his lows and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.
David said to Solomon with his wisdom, don't let Joab, Shimei gray head go down to the grave in pace, for Joab killed two better men and more upright than he. Shimei who called down bitter curses on David the day David went to Mahanaim.
Adonijah was keep in mind that the kingdom was his, but things changed and the kingdom has gone to his brother and wanted have Abishag as his wife. So let Solomon has reason to kill him.
David also reminded show kindness to the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and let them be among those who eat at your table.
Why?
All of these men are the potential trouble makers to Solomon.
David did not forget everyone did mercy to him and remembered each evil man.
King David told his son the most important thing is observe what the Lord requires, it is the only way let his kingdom prosper and he will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel
How?
For a kingdom or for a man, observe what the Lord requires is the only way to let us prosper.

To be a worthy man in present of the Lord
1 Kings 1:28-53
David took an oath, "As surely as the Lord lives. who is delivered me out of trouble, I will surely carry out today what I swore to you by the Lord, the God of Israel: Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he will sit on my throne in my pace."
Servants of David said to David "As the Lord was with my lord the king, so may he be with Solomon to make his throne even greater than the throne of my lord King David!"
When all Adonijah's heard this news all guest rose in alarm and dispersed. Adonijah in fear of Solomon. Solomon said : If you shows himself to be a worthy man, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground; but if evil is found in him, he will die."
Why?
Adonijah is outmanoeuvred. Solomon is made king initially co-regent with David.
David remember the Lord delivered his life out from trouble, he obeyed what he swore to the Lord.
Blessing is somehow may come true. The nation of Solomon even greater than throne of David.
A worthy man : Who is a honest man to the king, valuable to others.
How?
Am I a worthy man before the Lord? May the Lord guides my way forward and I will follow his commandment.

Do what I should do to honor the Lord
Kings 1:1-27
King David was old and well advanced in years, he not only can't want even they put covers keep him, he also didn't know what happen outside.
Adonijah wanted to be a king, he has prepared and invited his brothers and Joan, Abiathar the priest. He did not invite others who didn't support him and Solomon.
Nathan, the priest, advised Bathsheba how to save her life and the life of his son Solomon.
Bathsheba did as Nathan said, Nathan came in told David later to prove what her said and he asked King David "Is this something my lord the king has done without letting his servant know who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?"
Why?
His three elder brothers dead, Adonijah is heir apparent. But the throne has been promised to Adonijah's half-brother, Solomon(1 Chronicles 22:9)
Thanks to some quick thinking by the prophet Nathan and quicker action by the old king
This promise is not recorded elsewhere.
Nathan did a good job on his role- a priest, spoke for the Lord, reminded king David.
How?
To be a servant of the Lord, like Nathan, say when it time to say don't afraid other people. Do what I have to do. My lord is the God. Do what is good the Lord.

Do you love me more than these?
John 21:15-25
When they finished eating, Jesus asked Peter three times,
"Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"
Peter answered twice " Yes, Lord." But third time, he was hurt and said " Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you".
Jesus said "Feed my lambs."," Take care my sheep.', "Feed my sheep."
Jesus indicated the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then said to him "Follow me!"
Peter turned and saw John, and he asked "Lord, what about him?" Jesus answered," If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me." It is means "If I want him to remain alive util I return, what is that to you?"
Jesus did many other things as well If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world not have room for the books that would be written.
Why?
Jesus is resurrection body, he can eat fish and bread. It is a true physical body.
Jesus healed Peter's hurt in his inner heart by asked him three times, "Do you love me?"
Love me more than these? What are these? Is the food? Is the money? Is the fishing? Is the honor of man? Or is the life?
Jesus said three time,"Fee my sheep" to Peter, restore him his old place as leader, and gave him the task of caring for his people.
Jesus gave Peter and John different mission, so they live and die in different way and time.
Gospel closed with an affirmation of the truth of what is written.
How?
Each one of the follower of Jesus has different task to glorify Jesus' name. Don't have to compare with others, follow Jesus and do what Jesus said to me.

Come and have breakfast
John 21:1-14
Peter and disciples went home and were doing their original jobs, to be a fisher.
But there could not get any fish all night, next day morning, Jesus stood on the shore told them "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will fine some." They did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish."
As soon as Peter heard John said "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him and jumped in the water.
When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals with fish on it, and some bread. Jesus said to them,"Bring some of the fish you have just caught." There were 153 large fishes. Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." This is the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples (Seven of them) after he was raised from the dead.
Why?
The boat were not far from shore, about a hundred yards, so disciples could not identify it is Jesus at the first glance.
Disciples seems lost their hope so they went back to do their former jobs.
Jesus appeared to his disciples this time is for Peter and other disciples, to serve them and recover their heart.
Peter were three time not acknowledged Jesus so he felt embarrass to the Lord. So he jump into the water.
John remembered how many of the fishes were and how Jesus appeared to them.
How?
When we confess our faults or sins, Jesus will forgive us and rescue us. Jesus so loved Peter, and He is loving us also.

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed
John 20:19-31
On the night Jesus resurrection day, Jesus came to disciples place and showed his hands and side to disciples.
All the doors locked for fear of Jews. Jesus can go through the door.
The first word Jesus said to them is " Peace be with you!"
Jesus sending them as God has sending Jesus, and let them receive the Holy Spirit, give them the right to forgive anyone his sin.
Thomas war not with the disciples when Jesus came, So he did not believed in what disciples said about Jesus. Eight days later, Jesus came again, Thomas believed in Jesus. Then Jesus told him,"Stop doubting and believe." "Because you have seen me, you have believed, blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed."
There were many miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the So of God, and by believing you may have life in his name.
Why?
Thomas approved to us again, Jesus is really resurrection.
All of these John has written down is let us believe in Jesus and have life in his name.
How?
Peace be with me and with all who believe in Jesus name.

Who is it you are looking for?
John 20:1-23
Early o the first day of the week- Sunday
Mary Magdalene saw the stone had been removed from the entrance.
John first reached the tomb first, he bent over and looked in. Peter who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb.
John went inside the tomb. He saw and believed.
The disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angles. They asked her,"Woman, why are you crying?"
Jesus said to her," Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?"Mary."
Jesus said to Mary, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"
Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news, "I have seen the Lord!"
Why?
Saw, have seen, but disciples still did not understand from the Scripture that Jesus to rise from dead. So as we saw some miraculous sign, we might not understand what it's meaning. If it has been done by the Lord, it will be corresponded to the Scripture. Reading Scripture and being led by Holy Spirit are important.
Who is it you are looking for? Who are we looking for in our life? Jesus is the right answer.
Th gospel gives personal account of what happened-what John heard and saw from himself and what he learned from Mary Magdalene.
Mary Magdalene was singularly well prepared to witness to the facts about Jesus' ministry, his death and his resurrection. Then she disappeared from the record, not being mentioned in Acts or in any of the Letters. does it mean that she had no role in spreading the gospel? Or she she go on quietly telling others what she had seen an heard? Did they believed in her? Was she among those scattered in the persecution of the church in Jerusalem? Where did she go? What would you like to say to modern Christian women?
How?
Could I be the Mary Magdalene to support the gospel and be a witness to Jesus?

Jesus was without question dead on the cross
John 19:31-42
It was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Yesterday is Maundy Thursday.
Other two peoples crucified with Jesus, the legs broken and the bodies taken down. The soldiers did not broke the legs of Jesus, but instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus's side with a spear, bring a sudden flow of blood and water. These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled. Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for he body of Jesus. He was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because the feared the Jews.
They taking Jesus' body, according with Jewish burial customs. They laid Jesus in a new tomb nearby, in which no one had ever been laid.
Why?
Even after the dead of Jesus is fulfilled as scripture said. So John once again proved Jesus is the son of God. And John was implying Jesus was without question dead
New tomb may decrease the doubt when Jesus arise three days later.
As a Jew, he could not help seeing special significance in the flow of blood (for sacrifice) and water (for cleaning).
How?
Jesus is shed his blood for us.

Jesus is the Messiah as the Scripture said
John 19:17-30
Jesus carried his own cross, went out to the place of the Skull- Golgotha. Other two crucified with Jesus.
Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read" Jesus of Mazareth, The King of The Jews"
When the soldiers crucified Jesus they took his clothes, divided them into four shares. The garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom, They decided by lot who will get it." This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled as (Psalm 22:18).
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. Four women were there.
Jesus said to his mother,"Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, John, "Here is your mother.", From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.
Later, knowing that all was now completed and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty." A jar of wine vinegar was they, so they soaked a sponge in it, pt the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When Jesus received the drink, Jesus said,"It is finished." He bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Why?
All of John described are shown Jesus did everything same as Scripture said. He is the Messiah.
Pilate admitted Jesus is the King of the Jews, it might mock Jesus, but it is declare the identity of Jesus is a king of the Jews.
Jesus asked John took care his mother.
Again John's account shows vivid, eye-witness recollection of events- the detail of the inscription
How?
Jesus is the Messiah, He is the King of kings. Today is the day to memory Jesus suffered on the cross for our sin. Let meditate his love and the meaning of cross.

The lamb of Passover
John 19:1-16
Roman soldiers mocked Jesus.
Pilate said to the Jews "Look I find no basis for a charge against him". As soon as the chief and their official saw him, they shouted,"Crucify! Crucify!"
Jews aid "We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the son of God."
Jesus answered to Pilate, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin."
It was the day of Preparation of Passover Week, about the sixth hour.
Pilate said to the Jews,"Here is your king.", But they shouted,"Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!" The chief priests answered,"We have no king but Caesar."
Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.
Why?
The Jews didn't accept Jesus as their king, they afraid the king Caesar and obey him.
Pilate knew Jesus is innocent but the Jews shouted "Crucify", so Pilate scared the crowd but didn't care the righteousness in judge.
Preparation day before the Passover: The lambs were killed that day, to be eaten at the the Passover meal and sunset. There is a deep significance in Jesus dying on the day the lambs were killed, he held his Passover meal a day early(with no lamb).
How?
Jesus is the lamb of Passover, so that we may escape the angry of the Lord. Jesus's blood erases our sin once and completely. He was dying for us.
Don't just follow the Laws, but follow the Jesus, sometimes we will misunderstand the meaning of the Bible, involved our wrong interpretation. May the Holy Spirit guides my reading and my behavior on His way.

The real king and best gift
John 18:28-40
The Jews handed over Jesus to Roman governor Pilate. Pelate didn't want to take over this but the Jews wanted to kill Jesus but they have not right to execute anyone.
Pelate can't find any basis for a charge against Jesus.
Jesus answered Pelate, " You are right in saying I am a king. In face, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
Pilate asked,"What is truth?"
There was a custom to release one prisoner to Jews at the time of the Passover. The Jews chose to release Barabbas, who had taken part in a rebellion. The Jews did not want to kill Jesus.
Why?
The same people four days ago welcome Jesus came to Jerusalem as a king. But now they try to kill Jesus, for they were blindness in their heart.
Roman governor representative Pelate coud not find any guilt against Jesus, but he afraid the crowd make trouble so did not release Jesus free
Jesus is a king of Heaven and on the world, but Jesus came to the world is for saving more people from sin, the dead.
The truth is believe in Jesus may have the eternal life.
How?
Jesus is completely Human being, he suffered all of the pain and scorn and mistreatment. But he is innocent one, he is the only righteous man. This is the best gift that the Lord has given us.

Deny himself to follow Jesus
John 18:15-27
Peter three times denied he is one of Jesus' disciples. After the third times the rooster began to crow as Jesus said.
John who was known to the high priest, came in and out of courtyard of the high priest was not problem.
The high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching. Jesus reply. "I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret. Why question me?
One of the officials nearby struck Jesus in the face and questioned him, Jesus replied "If I said something wrong, "testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?"
Why?
Peter is bread to follow Jesus entered the house of the high priest. John is brave also, but John has better relationship with them.
Jesus said nothing in secret, what Jesus said is truth.
The officials of the high priest did not justly ask Jesus. They scorned Jesus, mistreated him.
Peter was weak and lost his faith under the threaten of life. Most of us are same as Peter, can we brave to say yes I am his disciple. It depends on how much our faith in Jesus. What we pursue is the pleasure of the Lord not ours'.
How?
Sometimes we Christian will be scorned or be mistreated as Jesus, for they unknown what they doing. What we can do is still keep our good behavior and prayed to the Lord, ask for His help. Everything is good to me on the way of the Lord.
If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.(Luke 9:23)

Be still and pray
John 18:1-14
Jesus and his disciples went into the olive grove.
Judas, who betrayed Jesus, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.
Jesus knowing all that was going to happen to him, he went out and asked them "Who is it you want?"
When Jesus said "I am he," they drew back and fell to the ground."
Jesus told them, "If you are looking for me, then let these men go." this happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled:"I have not lost one of those you gave me" (John 6:39)
Peter had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear. Jesus commanded Peter, "Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?"
Th detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus and bound him.
Why?
Judas guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and Pharisees, for this time and this place had not crowd with Jesus.
Jesus went our and asked them "Who is it you want?" Then he may confirm their propose and let his disciples safely leave.
Jesus is not afraid what happen to him, he knowing all of that.
Peter was enthusiasm with flesh love to protect Jesus.
John omits us Jesus' prayer in the garden. But he tells us the name of the slave and that the swordsman was peter.
Under these emergency situation, Jesus was steady and spoke with power, Jesus be arrested for his willing and obeyed the command of the Lord.
Jesus was not escape, they don't have to bind Jesus, they treated Jesus as a criminal.
How?
Under any situation be still and pray, the Lord has his way and will guiding us. Do not afraid the flesh men in this world.
