1 Kings 5:1-18
King of Tyre had always been on friendly terms with David, when he heard that Solomon had been anointed king to succeed his father David, he sent his envoys to Solomon.
Solomon sent message to Hiram asked king of Tyre cut cedars of Lebanon for him to build the temple for Name of the Lord.
The Lord didn't allow David to build the temple for the name of the Lord, because of the wars waged against David from all sides.
Instead Solomon provided food to king Tyre, twenty thousand cors of wheat as food for his household, in addition to twenty thousand baths of pressed olive oil. They made a treaty.
King Solomon conscripted laborers from all Israel- thirty thousand men He sent them off to Lebanon in shifts of ten thousand a month, so that they spent one month in Lebanon and two months at home. Solomon had seventy thousand carriers and eighty thousand stonecutters in the hills, as well as thirty-three hundred foremen who supervised the project and directed the workmen.
Why?
Solomon used a lots of salvers in preparation for building the Temple.
A cor of wheat= a donkey-load. A cor of oil = 48 gallons
David bled other's blood so the Lord don't let David build the Temple for God.
Solomon made a treaty has benefit for each other. This is a trade treaty.
How?
The temple is a symbol, but after Jesus came, he build temple in our heart.
