The Lord blesses the sons of righteous man to many generations

1 King 15:1-24
Abijah succeeded Rehoboam as king of Judah in the 18 years of the reign of Jeroboam.
He committed all the sins his father had done before. Nevertheless, for David's sake the Lord gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong.
Asa became king of Judah in the 20 year of Jeroboam and reigned in Jerusalem 41 years.
Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done. He expelled the male shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his father has done. Even deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive Asherah pole.
Asa's heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life.
There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel throughout their reigns. Asa took all the silver and god that was left in the treasuries of the Lord's temple and of hos own palace. He sent them to Ben-Hadad, the king of Aram, "Let there be a treaty between me and you," he said, he asked Aram break treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from Judah.
Asa in his old age, his feet becam diseased.
Why?
In costs him all the silver and gold, but diverts Basha attention and buys Asa time to improve his own defense.
For the sake of David, the Lord gave a lamp in Jerusalem, so Asa's heart turned to the Lord in that worse situation.
People is easy to do evil thing, and uneasy to do the righteous thing. Unless the Lord put pure heart in his heart. All the man in the world is sinner.
How?
Commit our sin to the Lord and pray to other people around me, let the Lord change their heart to the Lord. This is our obligation and mission from the Lord.
The Lord blesses the sons of righteous man to many generations.
