1 Kings 11:26-33
Jeroboam son of Nebat rebelled against the king. The account of how he rebelled against the king: Solomon saw him was a man of standing, and Solomon put him in charge f the whole labor force of the house of Joseph. About that time Jeroboam was going out of Jerusalem, and Ahijah the prophet of Shiloh met him on the way, wearing a new cloak. The two of them were alone out in the country, and Ahijah took hold of the new cloak he was wearing and tore it into twelve pieces. Then he said to Jeroboam, "Take ten pieces for yourself, for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:'See, I am going to rear the kingdom out of Solomon's hand and give you ten tribes. But for the sake of my servant David and the city of Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, he will have one tribe.
Within his own nation there is Jeroboam, the man destined by God to rule over the ten breakaway tribes after the king's death.
Why?
Because king Solomon abandoned God and went off worshiping other gods and has not followed directions as his father David did and ignored the warning of the Lord twice. So God chose Jeroboam rule over the ten breakaway tribes after the king's death.
Jeroboam is rebelled against the king, even he was chosen by the king. Jeroboam in charge of the labor force so he understood the suffering of people in Israel.
A man away from the Lord could not trust in anyone in the world. Turn to the Lord and focus on the Lord is the way to be saved and prosperity.
How?
God is my savior and my fortress, worship the Lord and observe his decree and command.
