Indulge in success

1 Kings 9:10-22
King Solomon gave twenty towns in Galilee to Hiram king of Tyre, because Hiram had supplied him with all the cedar and pine and gold he wanted, Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
Here is the account of the forced labor King Solomon conscripted to build the Lords temple, his own palace, the supporting terraces, the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, Megiddo and Gezer.
All the people left from the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, that is, their descendants remaining in the land - these Solomon conscripted for his slave labor force.
For all his wealth, Solomon has his balance of trade problems. On his occasion he makes 20 cities over to Hiram of Tyre as security against a loan.
The vast labor force needed for new building and defense works is raised from two sources. Native Canaanites provided permanent slave labor. And the Israelite are pressed into short-term forced labor.
Why?
Solomon sole the 20 cities, his territories and his people to Hiram. This is against the law of the Lord.
Solomon built his palaces and the temple, he built others for himself and to storehouse villages and villages for chariots and horses. Make wealth for himself.
When Solomon under the success of his work, he is losing the faith and fear to the Lord. It is easy to indulge in the success.
How?
Be aware, the success indulgence may obscure my eyes and heart, keep the faith and fear to the Lord! All I have is come from the Lord.
