1 Samuel 2:11-26
Eli's sons were wicked men; they had no regard for the Lord.
This sin of the young men was very great in the LORD's sight, for they were treating the Lord's offering with contempt.
The Lord was gracious to Hannah; she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the Lord.
Eli, said to his sons, "Why do you do such things? I hear from all the people about these wicked deeds of yours. No, my sons; it is not a good report that I hear spreading among the Lord's people. If a man sins against another man, God may mediate for him; but if a man sins against the Lord, who will intercede for him?" However, his sons did not listen to their father's rebuke.
Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and with men.
The priest was entitled to a share in the sacrificial offerings. But what is going on here is a travesty of the law. Eli's sons seize the best bits before the offering has even been given to God. What is more, they are bringing prostitution into the worship of God, in the worst traditions of Canaanite religion.
Why?
Eli's sons were wicked men, for they had no regard for the Lord. Their heart has not the Lord, they did not fear the Lord.
God's grace came upon Hannah, she offer his son Samuel to the Lord, she has more sons and daughters.
To be stature and in favor with the Lord and with men. When we are in favor with the Lord will be in favor with men either. Conversing say is wrong.
If a man sins against another man, God may mediate for him; but if a man sins against the Lord who will intercede for him. It is right, no one can intercede for him. Only Jesus can do for us.
How?
Jesus is my salvation and my stronghold, let my stature be in favor with the Lord and with men.
