Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

Hebrew 13:10-25
The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp.  And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.  Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.  And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The writer returns, briefly, to his earlier themes. Not the old order but the new. Not the old sacrifices, but Jesus. Not a permanent home on earth, but a city yet to come.
A final appeal. Do good and help one another. Follow your leaders. ANd 'please pray for us': a personal touch at last.
The writer closes with a deeply moving prayer and blessing. He has written to encourage, not censure. He hopes the readers will take this kindly, and that he will see them soon.
Why?
Jesus Christ is a new sacrifice similar to the old testament offering outside the city. His blood may erase our sins forever.
Let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do good and to share with others.
Do out work with joy, for this is come from our heart to love others.

It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods

Hebrew 13:1-9
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so.
God is concerned with the whole life - the use of him; response to the need of others' marriage; use of money. Love shows itself in practical loving. Follow a good example of those who have gone before - for Christ does not change. Live, not by the rule-book, but by drawing on the inner strength which God provides.
Why?
Practice the good behavior to our home, our marriage, love others with care.
Do not love money for God never leave us, never forsake us when we are following with Jesus.
Be careful about the strange teachings, it is no good for our hearts. and eating ceremonial foods is not good for us neither.
God's grace and righteousness is my foundation of blessing.

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy

Hebrew 12:14-29
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.  The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”
This section is one of encouragement and warning. Count your assets and don't turn back. You have come to God in a better way than the errors of Sinai, the writer says, and he sets out the glories of heaven for us to see. Be thankful, be grateful, respond to God in worship. Live to please him. There is no escape for those who refuse him; they will find him 'a consuming fire.
Why?
God is consuming fire but through Jesus' blood we may come to the Lord without fear. God is fire everyone should fear Him, God will shake the world and heaven one more, so the final judgment will come, no one can escape the judgment.
What we can do is make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
How?
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy.

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children

Hebrew 12:3-13
My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he lovesand he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?
God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.
Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.
He did not give up when he faced the cross. Fix your eyes on him. THink what he went through - and don't be discouraged.
Accept suffering as a correction from a loving Father, evidence that he cares and wants the best for us. This discipline is like an athlete's training. The pain is short-term: the reward, lasting. So brace the trembling limbs and keep going.
Why?
Goe will discipline us as discipline his son, for these suffering is like discipline for our good.
It is like a father disciplines his son. So let us strengthen our feeble arms and weak knees.

Run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus

Hebrew 11:29-12:02
Those who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,  quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.
They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.
These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
And there were many more like these. Yet none of them received what God had promised - because he had a better plan, says the writer, one that included us too.
As for us, we are surrounded by these heroes of faith. They are looking on, crowding around the track to see us run. So, strip off everything that hinders, and run the Christian race to the finish. COnsider Christ - the ultimate example of faith its pioneer and perfector.
Why?
There are many men did good witnesses for us, so we do not fear but encouragement for the Lord planned something better for us than anything we are struggling to.
Many people were dead for Jesus Christ, they lost their life but God prepares better for them.
What we have to do is run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.
Ho
Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see

Hebrew 11:1-28
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did.
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death.
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family.
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.
The substance of this whole passage follows directly from 1-:39: 'We are not people who turn back... we have faith.' The faith that is needed is an ongoing confident reliance on God, come what may. To have faith is to be certain - not of the here and now, the tangible things - but about the realities we cannot see. To believe that God made the world, creating what we see from invisible resources is itself a matter of faith.
The Old Testament abounds in examples of people who won God's approval by trusting him to keep his promises, taking him at his word. The stories of how they lived and died 'in faith' stand on record and the writer run through the list of the most remarkable of these examples of faith. All of them looked forward to the time when God would fulfill his promises: none of then actually lived to see it. Their sights were set on a 'better country'. And God has a place prepared for them: he is proud to own them and be known as their God.
In answer to faith, God has given remarkable triumphs and victories. But not always. Faiths demonstrated - equally - through those who have endured imprisonment, torture and death.
Why?
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see because we would not see it so but we trust it.
By faith, there were many people who approved God's faith and God is worthy to be worshiped.
All of us are a foreigner on earth, our life is short, but we have faith that the Lord will gives us more we can see when we follow God's way.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded

Hebrew 10:19-39
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may super one another on toward love and good deeds.
Let us not give up meeting together. Let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
But only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sacrificed him and who has insulted the Spirit of grace.
You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewardedYou need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
Jesus has won for us open access to the presence of God. So let us come near to God', the writer urges. Hold firm to the hope that is ours in Christ. God can be trusted to keep his promise, There is no sacrifice left that will save those who oppose God, despise God's Son and insult his spirit. IT is a fearsome thing to face judgment at the hand of the living God.
These are people who have suffered for their faith, who have gladly endured loss. Keep up your courage, the writer urges. Hols on, Patient endurance will be rewarded, 'Just a little while longer...'
Why?
Four encouragements: draw near to God with a sincere heart, Hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, do not give up meeting together, encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching. God is faithful to all his followers.
How?
Do it and trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ.

For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Hebrew 10:1-18
Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All.
The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.
It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins
First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.
The writer continues to press home his point that the old repeated sacrifices could only remind people of their sins, not remove them. What the law could not do. Christ has done. His offering is effective forever. No further sacrifice is needed. Sins and misdeeds are not only forgiven but forgotten.
Why?
By the law have to make the sacrifice every year by the priest and it means never erase sins, but reminder the sins. Only Jesus Christ came and made atonement once and erase sins forever.
This is a great idea of the Lord for all of us.
This is written in the Bible and described by the words of the Lord.
God sets aside the first to establish the second, for the first one is not good enough, so Jesus came as a sacrifice forever.
------------------

The Blood of Christ

Hebrew 9:16-28
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
And the very repetition of the sacrifice made its ineffectiveness all too clear. It was also limited. For sin with a high hand or deliberate, premeditated sin, there was no atonement, only punishment.
When Christ came, the whole system was reformed; a new order began. As perfect high priest, he offered himself as the perfect sacrifice - a single voluntary offering, effective for all time, setting people free from the wrongs they have done. And his death brought the terms of his will the new covenant into effect. For he went into heaven itself, to stand on our behalf in the presence of God. SIn has been removed. When he returns it will be to save.
Why?
Jesus Christ did the thing great salvation, which sacrifice himself once for our sins and this salvation is available forever, do not like the Law have to sacrifice each year. This is the salvation to all and forever. For Jesus Christ is a new way of God to give a new way to human beings.
For cleansed sin have to shed blood so Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for us. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
How?
Realized the grace of God and Jesus Christ shedding of blood for me. What I have to do is obey his word and honor God's Holy Name in my daily life.

Shadow and reality: the perfect sacrifice

Hebrew 9:1-15
But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, whihc he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.
The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tavbernacle was still standing.
When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are alread here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not ap part of this creation.
How much , then, will the blood of Christ, who trhrough the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God.
The writer‘s thoughts are again back in the time of the exodus, when God made his covenant with Israel through Moses, and gave them the pattern on which to construct his Tent, the Tabernacle. THe Temple was later modelled ont it - but it is not the Temple he has in mind here. Although God had chosen to live with his people, in a tent like their own, they had no right of access to him. THe layout of the Tavernacle and the whole system of animal sacrifice emphasized God’s separateness and the people’s sins. The high priest, the only person allowed to enter the inner sanctuary, went in every year on the Day of Atonement.
Why?

How?
Jesus Christ became the high priest of the good thing, he offered himself unblemished to God for our salvation.

The ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of priests

Hebrew 8:1-13
But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.
For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people and said The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.
This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their heartsI will be their God, and they will be my people.
By calling this covenant “new, he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.
Jesus is different from all other high priests. His priestly work in heaven is the reality of which theirs are mere copies and shadowy reflection. 'If there had been nothing wrong with the old covenant, there would have been no need for a new one'. But God's people were unable to keep their side of the agreement, as the prophet Jeremiah made plain in looking forward to the day when God would draw up a new one, The old agreement was external, based on obeying God's rules. It was bound to fail. The new rests on knowledge and understanding, a unity of heart and mind between God and his people.
Why?
Jesus is appointed by the Lord for a new covenant for all of Israel and people. Because the covenant with people of Isreal and Judah could not keep them away from sins and disobedience.
God made a new way, Jesus Christ is superior to the old covenant.
This is called new, which means old is useless to God's people.

Because Jesus always lives to intercede for them

Hebrew 7:18-22
The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.
Because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them
He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
Jesus, who came from the royal strive of Judah, not the priestly tribe of  Levi, is the one who has given us ' a better hope, through which we approach God' and the guarantee of a better covenant. He offered himself as a once-and-for-all sacrifice, so he is able to save, for all time, those who approach God through him. The order has been replaced with a better one.
Why?
Jesus lives forever, so he always lives to intercede for us.
The law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness, but God with an oath, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever. All of these are for the salvation of all men.

You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek

Hebrew 7:1-17
This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.
If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?
For it is declared: You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”
Chapter 7 carries it forward. Jesus has superseded the Levitical priesthood by becoming a high priest for all time. This face is anticipated in Psalm 110, where the Messiah is described as a priest of a different order. The shadowy figure of Melchizedek reflects something of the nature of CHrist's priesthood - the dual role of king and priest; the timelessness of it; its superiority to the old order. Levit in a sense acknowledged this by paying Melchizedek tithes through his ancestor Abraham! If the priesthood of Aaron and his fellow Levites had been good enough, no change would have been needed. But in fact, neither these men nor the old religious system could meed the needs of sinful humanity, A different and better kind of priesthood, one not resting one he correct line of physical descent, was needed.
Why?
Jesus is in the level of Melchizedek, a priest of God most high. If the Levitical priesthood is perfect why Jesus come? Jesus Christ is a high priest forever, and not a resting priest to help people erase from sins.

Jesus is a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek, he is not a human priest.
No one knows where Melchizedek came from? when he was born?
-------------------

Show this same diligence to the very end

Hebrew 6:9-20
We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
There will then be no hope for them, for they have refused the one available means of forgiveness. This is where their thinking is leading them, though they have not yet reached the point of no return.
A warning is quickly followed by encouragement. The writer cannot believe they will go so far - or that God will allow it. God's promise is certain. Our hope fo receiving God's blessing is therefore certain too. Jesus has gone into the 'heavenly Temple' before us; there on our behalf in the presence of God and we will share his glory.
Why?
We have to show our same diligence to the very end for God sees what we have done. And keep our behalf right and good is important, such as Abraham received what was promised. So we have faith to receive the promise from the Lord through Jesus.
Jesus Christ is our leader, who has entered heaven on our behalf, Jesus Chris becomes a high priest forever so we have two unchangeable things. 1)God is impossible to lie 2) Jesus has entered heaven to be a high priest forever, who is helping us.
