So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded

Hebrew 10:19-39
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may super one another on toward love and good deeds.
Let us not give up meeting together. Let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
But only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sacrificed him and who has insulted the Spirit of grace.
You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewardedYou need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
Jesus has won for us open access to the presence of God. So let us come near to God', the writer urges. Hold firm to the hope that is ours in Christ. God can be trusted to keep his promise, There is no sacrifice left that will save those who oppose God, despise God's Son and insult his spirit. IT is a fearsome thing to face judgment at the hand of the living God.
These are people who have suffered for their faith, who have gladly endured loss. Keep up your courage, the writer urges. Hols on, Patient endurance will be rewarded, 'Just a little while longer...'
Why?
Four encouragements: draw near to God with a sincere heart, Hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, do not give up meeting together, encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching. God is faithful to all his followers.
How?
Do it and trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ.
