Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you

Psalm 55:1-23

My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen on me. Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.

I would flee far away and stay in the desert;  I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.”

If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers.

As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. But you, God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of decay; the bloodthirsty and deceitful will not live out half their days.

But as for me, I trust in you.

The content fits in well with the time of Absolom's rebellion, when Ahithophel, David's most trusted adviser, defaulted.

Above and beyond all his other fears and troubles, the treachery of a trusted friend - one who also loves God- has come like a knife to the heart. The psalmist is torn by conflicting emotions: fear and longing to opt-out of the whole situation; and the desire to see his enemies worsted. But trust eventually wins - for friends may be faithless, but not God.

Why?
David was fear and in trouble, his friends betrayed him. No one trusted but the Lord only.

Sometimes we may have trouble and overwhelm by the fear. Do not frustrate but turn to the Lord, for God is my savior, my hope, and my way.

這個知己的朋友大概是指亞希多弗。

1. v1-9 看自己： 哀聲嘆息。祈求從痛苦中脫離，在災難中，甚至於覺得神隱藏了，不管了。所以在苦難中，我們只看到自己。如門徒在渡海時，門徒看到耶穌在睡覺，不顧他們了。希望快快脫離，甚至羨慕鴿子

2.  v10-15 看敵人(困難)： 心懷不平。好像處在無政府狀態。城牆本來保護人的，卻成為惡者的地方。你可能是指亞希多弗，都賣主，最後都自殺，如猶大一樣。被人背叛，是最讓人傷心。神/耶穌被猶大背叛，彼得不認主。神為基督徒規劃精美的道路，我們卻不削一顧。耶穌是我們最親愛的朋友，我們卻不削神規劃的路。雖然我們還不至於不承認神！當初也一起討論神的話語，如同我們現在一起聚會，研經，討論。難道這些都是假的。我們表面上非常愛主，內心卻不是如此，遇到困難、利益抉擇時。那個背叛者可能就是我們

3. 16-23 看神：從新得力。這些苦神都知道，當轉向神時重新得力。神聽見他的哀求。相信神必行公義的審判。

你要把你的重擔卸給耶和華，他必撫養你；他永不叫義人動搖。此時大衛的苦難還在，但是他轉向神，重新得力，自己站立起來，還可以勉勵別人。

不管今天處境如何?不看什麼?只看神！
