I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within

 Zechariah 1:18-2:5

Then I looked up, and there before me were four horns.  I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these?”

He answered me, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.”

Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. I asked, “What are these coming to do?”

He answered, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise their head, but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”

He answered me, “To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is.”

While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within.’

The second vision is a vivid picture of the destruction of the hostile powers which had ground the nation down: the powerful 'horns' (Four indicates completeness - the four corners of the earth. Their power will be smashed by four workmen: smiths. who presumably hammer them on the anvil.

Why?

The Lord separated Israel and empty Jerusalem, but God will recover this city back to the glory of the Lord within. His people will come back to this Holy city. 

There is no walled city and God will be the firewall of the city.

This is a great promise and vision shown to Zechariah.

Measure Jerusalem is ready to rebuild this city.

Same as Jerusalem, God will destroy this world and rebuild a new world with God's glory.

四個角，四股力量。四個使猶大，以色列滅亡的帝國，巴比侖，波斯……，惡人的勢力自相殘殺，審判從以色列開始。他們看來很厲害，最後都會敗壞。神一直掛念他的百姓，那些隨意對待神百姓的人，神興起其他人來毀滅他們。

神自己成為準繩，標準，成為我們的保護，即城牆。沒有城牆似乎危險，顯然更安全。火牆。沒有城牆，大家都可以進來。沒有任何人可以攻擊。

拆毀我們心中的城牆，重建新的城牆。
