Psalm 74:12-23
It was you who split open the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the monster in the waters. It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave it as food to the creatures of the desert. It was you who opened up springs and streams; you dried up the ever-flowing rivers.
The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon.
Remember how the enemy has mocked you, Lord, how foolish people have reviled your name. Do not hand over the life of your dove to wild beasts; do not forget the lives of your afflicted people forever.
Rise up, O God, and defend your cause; remember how fools mock you all day long. Do not ignore the clamor of your adversaries, the uproar of your enemies, which rises continually.
The psalmist thinks of the power of his God. He pleads with God to keep his promise to Israel and sweep the blasphemous enemy away.
Why?
God is the Lord! How great is the Lord, he created all of this world and people and everything.
The day is yours and yours also the night, so it is not difficult to the Lord.
It is the heart of his people turned away from the Lord, so the Lord let these enemies come and destroy the Temple.
-------------

How?
God needs is our heart and behavior to obey the word of the Lord and honor God's holy name. Holy Temple is a symbol and it is not so important
