Isaiah 42:10-25
Song of praise to the Lord, a song for joy and battle - the Lord will triumph over his enemies.
Hear, you deaf; look, you blind, and see! Who is blind but my servant, and dead like the messenger I send? Who is blind like the one committed to me, blind like the servant of the Lord?
You have seen many things, but have paid no attention; your ears are open, but your hear nothing.
Which of you will listen to this or pay close attention in time to come?
Why?
As the picture develops through the four 'Servant Songs' 42:1-4, 49:1-6, 50:4-11, 52:13-53:12; it becomes clear that no ordinary person or peple fits the description.
A new song follows the announcement of 'new things' to come. It is a song of praise and a battle song. Then God continues his address with a fresh promise of help and a plea that this time his people listen. The exiles need to learn from their experience.
To be a servant of the Lord preach the word of the Lord, but for the first have to trust in Lord and listen to do what God says.
I should careful listen and see what God shows to me. Don't be a deaf and blind servant of the Lord.
How?
O Lord, please remind me with your Holy Spirit, help me conquer my selfhish and my personal mind to be a humble servant in any places, especially in my home to my family.
