Numbers 14:1-25
Joshua & Caleb The people of the community
If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead Why the Lord bringing us to this land
us into that land only to let us fall by the sword?
Their protection is gone, but the Lord is Our wives and children will be taken
with us. Do not be afraid of them. as plunder. We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.
How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe me, in spite of all the miraculous signs I have performed among them?
The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.
The Lord forgiven them the sin, but the punishment is come upon these people. Not one of the men who saw my glory and the miraculous signs I performed in Egypt and in the desert will ever see the land I promised on oath to their forefathers.
Caleb has a different spirit and follows God wholeheartedly. He will get into the land he went to.
Within sight of the goal, a whole generation cut itself off from all that was promised.
Why?
Fear and horrible information has power of infection among people when they have not faith and acknowledge.
Moses's prayers at this point is staggering. Only God's intervention has saved him from death by stoning. Moses pleading for the life of the stubborn nation that cause him nothing but trouble.
Time and time again Moses stands between Israel and utter destruction.
Good servant of the Lord has a different spirit and follows God wholeheartedly. Different spirit is honest and despite of circumstances, his heart is always focus on the Lord.
Good servant as Moses stand between his people and utter destruction.
How?
O Lord, please give me the heart and faith to be a good servant in present of you. I know this is a difficult way, if the Lord is please with me I can do it.
