Ezekiel 33:10-33
The Lord takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel! -- It show the mercy of the Lord.
The righteous man, it he sins, will not be allowed to live because of his former righteousness. If the wicked man, listened the warning, and turn away from his sin and does what is just an right, he will surely live; he will not die.
Since you eat meat with the blood still in it and look to your idols and shed blood, should you then possess the land? You rely on your sword, you do detestable things, and each of you defiles his neighbor's wife. Should you then possess the land?
They sit before Ezekiel to listen to his words, but they do not put them into practice. With their mouths they express devotion, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain.
Why?
God is just, man can not live because of his former righteousness for he has know what is right and wrong. Wicked man turn back from his sin will not die, for he did it under innocent situation, when he confessed his sin and turn back to just, God gives him opportunity to live.
Listen but do not put them into practice which is nonsense to them.
In Babylonia the exiles who seemed to lap up Ezekiel's words came simply for entertainment. They neither believed them nor acted on them: a depressing state of affairs after all that had happened!
How?
The Lord is full of mercy in Old testament and New testament. His love endure forever. Listen to the word of God and put into practice, then save out live!
