Ezekiel 14:1-11
Estranged from me through their idols.
to turn away in feeling or affection; make unfriendly or hostile; alienatethe affections of: Their quarrel estranged the two friends.
The prophets of Israel taking his idols into his heart and putting the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and yet comes to a prophet to consult me through him, I the Lord will answer him myself. I will set my face against that man.
The punishment of the prophet and the punishment of the inquirer shall be alike.
Repent and turn away from your idols, and turn away your face from all your abominations.
Why?
Ezekiel did not know who has idols in his heart, but the Lord knows it. So the Lord told Ezekiel and warned them. Hope they may repent and turn away from their idols.
Most Christian won't take idols in his heart, but may take some materials to be his idols, such as iPhone, dressing or famous singers.
The prophet and the inquirer have the same punishment for they take idols in their hearts, they deceive each others.
How?
I am not rich and a little poor, but don't take the high tech products into my heart, all of those will fading, if it is needed to me in my living, the Lord will let me have it. Don't let it to be my stumble in my faith. Rejoice for the Lord Almighty.
