The Lord's Supper

1 Cor 11:17-34
When you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper you eat, for as you eat, each of you goes ahead without waiting for anybody else. One remains hungry another gets drunk.
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other.
In the early days the Lord's Supper took place in the course of a communal meal. It was 'bring-and-share', with everyone bringing what food they could. But in Corinth the loving, sharing principle has broken down. Some begin to eat before others have arrived. And some get drunk while others go hungry. It is a disgrace - a serious offence. Paul has to remind the of the circumstances in church the first Lord's Supper took place.
How?
Serve the Lord and respect Lord's Supper, to remember the love of Jesus Christ who shed for us.
