2 Thessalonians 1:1-12
Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.
God is just: He will pay back trouble of those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled and to us as well.
This will happen when the Lord Jesus is reveled from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.
With this mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.
V3-4 the Thessalonians seem to have protested against the extravagant praise of Paul's first letter. He replied that it is only right to thank God for their growing faith and love, and their firm stand in face of persecution.
V 5-12: God is a just God: he will do what is right. It is therefore certain that those who make his people suffer, and reject his truth, will themselves suffer eternal destruction (permanent separation from God, in contrast to the believer, who has 'eternal life', permanently in God's presence).
Why?
Grace and peace is existing in the Lord Jesus only, there is no grace and peace among the world.
God is just, He will pay back what we have done in justice.
Do what is count to me worthy of His calling. We are God's work and obey his command.
My hope is in Jesus Christ.
How?
Constantly pray for brothers and stand firm with faith and love under any persecution.
