Isaiah 20:1-6
The Lord said, "just as my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot for three years, as a sign and portent against Egypt and Cush, so the king of Assyria will lead away stripped and barefoot the Egyptian captives and Cushite exiles young and old , with buttocks(臀部) bares - to Egypt's shame.
Those who trusted in Cush and boasted in Egypt will be dismayed and put to shame.
The year is 711BC, when the Assyrians crushed the Philistine rebellion at Ashdod. The support expected from Egypt had not materialized. Three years earlier, God had instructed Isaiah to mime the role of a slave, stripping off his sackcloth and sandals to go about naked and barefoot. It was a startling demonstration of the coming captivity of Egypt, designed to warn his people to place no reliance on help from that quarter. In 701 BC Egypt was defeated by Assyria.
Why?
Isaiah is servant of the Lord, so he obey God's command even it is shame to him to be a sign to Egypt and Cush.
But real case walked among peopel gave impressive warning of the coming event.
Trust in Cush and boasted in Egpt will be dismayed and put to shame, so as trust in men or wealth will be dismayed and put to shame.
How?
Trust in the Lord Almight and Jesus Christ is the only way to have peace and prosper life.
