Acts 5:29-42
Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin. For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.
The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.
Gamaliel: A well-respected leader of the Pharisees.
The Jewish historian Josephus tells Theudas story by name, but dates it a generation later than Judas! Judas, for the resistance, headed a protest in an 6 against paying tax to Rome.
Why?
Peter and apostles were witness of the Jesus raised from the dead and many wonders, so they know what they are believed is truth.
The Holy Spirit has given to those who obey Him, Jesus Christ.
The Pharisees Gamaliel said the truth and pursued the others Pharisees, if their activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God you will not be able to stop them.
If it is the way from God no one be able to stop it. if it is human origin, it will fail soon.
How?
Find the way of God and obey it. Holy Spirit will show me the way and give me strength to obey it.
