Acts 18:1-17
After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.
But when they opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.” So Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.
Paul probably arrived in Corinth in AD 50, when Gallio was proconsul. He was joined there by Timothy and Silas.
Most of the Jews oppose the new teaching, though the president of the synagogue is convinced and Paul continues teaching for 18 months. When angry Jews take him to court, proconsul Gallio is swift to judge that Paul has committed no crime, and hustles them away. His decision is an important one for the Christian faith.
Why?
In Corinth there were God's word and God's people, but there were many Jews opposed Paul's teaching.
God gave word to Paul in vision at night, Do not be afraid, keep on speaking, doe not be silent. For I am with you. This encouraged Paul stayed in Corinth about 19 months. And there gave Christian faith after the judgment of Gallio.
Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it, it is the attitude to the men who oppose the Lord.
How?
God's word and God's plan is not change and modify, for the authority of the Lord we are his servant.
