Acts 5:12-28
No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people.
Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.
Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. But during the night an angelof the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.”
The high priest questioned them “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”
It was like the days of Jesus in Galilee all over again, so many were being healed by the apostles. No wonder the Jewish authorities grew jealous of their enormous influence. Their swift deliverance from prison and the angel's command further convince the apostles of their mission. Threats, imprisonment, even the lash, are of no avail against the power of God.
Why?
For Peter and John did miracle things so people highly regarded them, but keep away from them for fear their authority.
People know they have power to heal the sick so many people gather from towns around Jerusalem.
Threats, imprisonment, even the lash are not avail against the power of God.
Tell the people all about this new life, is the mission said through angle. So it is clear the mission of the apostle is tell people the gospel, Jesus Chris is the Lord.
How?
Tell the people about this new life can save people from sins and be free from burden and darkness.
