See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation

Isaiah 28:1-22

That wreath, the pride of Ephraim’s drunkards, will be trampled underfoot. That fading flower, his glorious beauty, set on the head of a fertile valley, will be like figs ripe before harvest— as soon as people see them and take them in hand, they swallow them.

In that day the Lord Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people. He will be a spirit of justice to the one who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

For it is: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that; a little here, a little there.” Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people, to whom he said, “This is the resting place, let the weary rest”; and, “This is the place of repose”— but they would not listen.

So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic. I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will overflow your hiding place. Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be beaten down by it.

Now stop your mocking, or your chains will become heavier; the Lord, the Lord Almighty, has told me of the destruction decreed against the whole land.

Why?

Epharain is the leader in north Israel. Isaiah said this to warn Israel and Judah. For they changed the law of the Lord and made a covenant with death, the agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand.

The Lord will lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation, this means that Jesus Christ will be this stone.

Stop mocking and our life should be standing on the rock of Jesus Christ and trusting in the Lord.

南國與北國都想依靠埃及

1~6節講北國，他們心裡高傲，主有一大能大力者是指亞述。

到那日，萬軍之耶和華必作他餘剩之民的榮冠華冕，人在某個方面想要出頭，神卻在兩條剩餘之民中為冠冕。

7-12節 牧者的驕傲、無知：因為一些事情，信仰站立不穩。他們錯解默示，謬行審判，且譏誚先知的說：他要將知識指教誰呢？要使誰明白傳言呢？是那剛斷奶離懷的嗎？他們不願意聽，不要人教導。好像做了幾十年的基督徒，牧者所講的自認已經知道。

先知說：不然，主要藉異邦人的嘴唇和外邦人的舌頭對這百姓說話。既然不聽，就讓他們看不起的外邦人來向他們說話。知道是知道卻不遵守，神用最簡單，教孩子似的教他們，不能說不懂。

14~ 官長、掌權者：錯誤的外交政策，國與國之間本來就是

不可靠。即謊言為避所，在虛假以下藏身

神所設立的是穩固根基，寶貴的房角石；信靠的人必不著急。向猶大國指出一條道路。

床榻短，使人不能舒身；被窩窄，使人不能遮體。比喻亞蘭等國不可靠。

我們是否以耶和華為避難所為藏身之處?
