Genesis 16:1-6
Sarai suggested Abram take her Egyptian maidservant Hagar to build a family through her. Abram agreed and Hagar conceived.
When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. Sarai said to Abram, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. May the Lord judge between you and me." Abram said, "Do with her whatever you think best."
Sarai mistreated Hagar, so she fled from her.
Compromise:
Sarai devises her own way of making God's promise come true. Childless herself, she falls back on custom, giving her slave-girl to Abram. (This provision could be written into the marriage contract: the resulting child becoming the wife's.) But human emotions in such a situation are complex.
Why?
Sarai used her way to make God's promise, but Abram agreed it either, both have responsible about this matter.
Abram seems did not take his responsibility to take care his family quarrels. Actually it is hard to resolve this emotional issue.
God's word is precised and not any space to compromise.
How?
Trust in word of God and his promise without doubt in any situation.
