Genesis 16:7-16
Ishmael: means God hears. For the Lord had heard of your misery.
Hagar gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her."You are the God who sees me."
Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael. Ishmael means flesh.
The angel of the Lord: Mentioned a number of times in Judges as well as in other Bible passages (the Hagar story and the 'sacrifice' of Isaac in Genesis; Moses and the burning bush in Exodus 3), the Angie always comes as God's representative, with a special message from God. He speaks in God;s name, often in the first person as God, and is virtually identified with God by those to whom he appears. Sometimes he show himself as an ordinary person, somethings as an awesome heavenly being. But no one who sees him is left in any doubt of his authority.
Why?
Ishmael will be a nation against everyone and everyone's hand against him and he will live in hostility敵意 toward all his brothers. It is the situation now in Mid-East Asia.
How?
God hears our pray when we pray in Jesus name. Ishmael is live in hostility toward all Christian. So we have to be aware of it, and let our heart focus on the Lord.
