Jesus arise from the dead

Luke 24:1-12
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,  but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord JesusWhile they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:  The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”  Then they remembered his words.
It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles.
Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.
In the stillness of Sunday morning, as day breaks, so does the extraordinary news. The tomb is empty. Jesus, so recently dead and buried, is alive again!
The details given in the four accounts of what took place on that momentous morning are difficult to harmonize. With any major event, it is hard to piece together information from a number of independent witnesses. But all are clear about the fact - see "Jesus' resurrection'.
Why?
What Jesus said has come truth, Jesus has risen and could not be found among the dead.
Mary Magdalene and Joanna this two women are the first one saw this evidence.
Peter is the first one run to the tomb wants to know what is going on. It is happened as they said but he didn't know how and why? All of them forgot what Jesus said before he left them.
Word of Jesus beyond our living experience could we believe it. For Jesus is Son of God, there is nothing impossible to Him.
How?
Trust in the Lord and follow Jesus, Jesus has risen so he conquer the dead and bearing our sins so we are free from sins.

Joseph who had not consented to their decision and action, he was waiting for the kingdom of God

Luke 23:44-56
It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”When he had said this, he breathed his last.
The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.
Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man, who had not consented to their decision and action. He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body. Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid. It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was about to begin
Why?
It is miracle: about noon, darkness came over for three hours. it could be
Eclipse, but it was happened in this time Jesus breathed his last.
Jesus commit his spirit, Jesus obedience to the Lord.
Centurion praised God and said "surely this was a righteous man. He is better than the priests and teachers and leader of Jews.
Joseph handled the body of Jesus and put into the tomb not one used before, to save the evidence of Jesus raise.
Joseph finally has action to ask Jesus body. To show his decision in his heart.
How?
I will show my heart is belong to the Lord and Jesus Christ. but to many people in the world they have to show no action and their decision for save their life.

Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom.

Luke 23:26-43
The crucifixion.
For if men do these things when the tree is green what will happen when it is dry?
The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, "He saved others ; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One. The Soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself."
There was a written notice above them, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him. But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, 'since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." Then he said, "Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."
Only Luke tells us that one of the mocking robbers repented and was forgiven.
Why?
For if men do these things when the tree is green what will happen when it is dry? It will fall very soon.
People don't know what God's will, they don't know where God is, so they used their own mind to watch Jesus on the Cross.
This is the limitation of human being, we saw the feature according to our experience to just everything.
Jesus is the king of the Jews and all human being.
The robber said the right word and he was saved on at the last time in his life. Repent our sins will be saved.
How?
Catch the time repent our sins and accept Jesus before lost our life. Facing the cross how we see it and do we repent our sins.

An innocent man scourged and crucified

Luke 23:13-25
Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people, and said to them, "You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion, I have examined him in your presence and have found no basis for your charges against him. Neither has Herod, for he sent him back to us. Therefore I will punish him and then release him.
With one voice they cried out, "Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!"
But with loud shouts they insistently demanded that he be crucified, and their shouts prevailed. So Pilate deiced to grant their demand.
Although acquitted by both Herod and Pilate, Jesus is condemned to death - because Pilate dare not risk another unfavorable report reaching the emperor. So a convicted murderer is freed, and an innocent man scourged and crucified.
Why?
Usually, most people are blink in their what they are doing. Population is blind.
To be a Christian should be aware what is truth and lie.
It is the priests, rulers and the people they crucified Jesus, who is Innocent man.
Jesus bears our sins and be crucified. If I bared unjust affair for Jesus I would accept, but if it is not for Jesus I won't accept it.
How?
Jesus blood is shed for our sins, so we have to remember his love and share Jesus good news to others.

Jesus is Son of God. Jesus is the king of the Jews

Luke 22:63-23:12
Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe me, and if I asked you, you would not answer. But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God. They all asked, ‘Are you then the Son of God?” He replied, “You say that I am.
Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate.
So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied. Then Pilate announced to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort. He plied him with many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer.
Blasphemy was a capital charge under Jewish law. The trial by the Sanhedrin Council makes it clear they condemned Jesus to death for his claim to be Son of God. But the accusation is rephrased for the Roman governor.
But the accusation is rephrased for the Roman governor. Pilate is not interested in offences against Jewish religious law, so the charges are 'perverting our nation' so the charges are 'perverting our nation', forbidding payment of tax and the treasonable claim to be 'King of the Jews' - the charge on which Pilate's Jews' - the charge on which Pilate's condemnation will rest.

Herod is in Jerusalem for the Passover, If Pilate is attempting to shift responsibility by sending his prisoner to Herod, ti does not work. It is strange to find the exchange over Jesus bringing these two old enemies together.
Why?
Because they did not believe what Jesus has done and his word so no matter what Jesus said they won’t believe and wanted get rid of Jesus.
Son of God is the relationship between Jesus and The Lord. So Jesus can do everything according to the word of God.
When believe there will be a miracle.
How?
Jesus is the Son of God, so I worship Him and praise him and follow Him.

The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter

Luke 22:47-62
He approached Jesus to kiss him, but Jesus asked him, Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?
Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs? Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.”
The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times. And he went outside and wept bitterly.
Peter is brave enough to keep within sight of Jesus as he is led away. But with nothing do do but wait, courage oozes away and dear takes control. Three times Peter says what he swore he would never say. Even his leading disciple denies Jesus. But one look from him is enough to break the big fisherman's heart.
Why?
Judas really became an evil man, he trapped by his own mind. Follow Jesus doesn't mean agree with Jesus and love Jesus.

Darkness reigns, time and events are under control of the Lord, so God permitted this for God's purpose for God loves us and gave his son to us.
Peter's weakness was happened and same as Jesus predicted before. When Jesus looked straight at Peter, Peter sensed that Jesus knew all of this, Peter confessed his weakness and his flesh can do nothing.
Jesus looked straight Peter, means Peter you will know what I said. But I have forgiven you.
How?
Humble myself, and focus on Jesus, God's grace and love are full filled with me and satisfaction.  Not rely on my strength but rely on God's mercy and power!

Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.

Luke 22:31-46
Satan  has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.
I  tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.
But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.
I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.
Jesus went on out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him.
Why are you sleeping? he asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."
Jesus' real trial takes place among the olives, as he consents to sacrifice his life. Arrest follows swiftly.
Why?
Jesus knew that Peter will lose faith and deny Jesus three times previously, but Peter didn't recognize this. So Jesus said when you have turned back, strengthen your brother.
The trial takes place so Jesus asked his disciple take purse and bag , even sword with them.
The sacrifice will fulfilled in Jesus so Jesus faced the trial on Olive mount.
How?
Even the weakness is in hands of Jesus, so why should I fear and worry about the future and today?
Trust in Jesus and strengthen my brothers.

The greatest among you should be like the youngest

Luke 22:14-30
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you
But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table.
But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.  For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Why?
Jesus set up Super let his disciples and followers do this in remember Jesus.
Jesus knew the one of them will betray him on the table.
In the kingdom of God the greatest should be like the youngest and the one who rules like the one who serves. It is not rule over them but to serve them.
How?
Let me know the humble and do it like Jesus said, to serve others. For one who humbled will be raised.

They left and found things just as Jesus had told them

Luke 22:1-13
Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the Temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were delighted and agree to give him money.
Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover."
Where do you want us to prepare for it? They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
Why?
Judas betray Jesus with money and his heart was trapped by evil.
Passover is near so Jesus asked his disciples to prepare the Passover. Jesus knew the place and what person they will meet. Jesus knew the time and place for each moment. For Jesus is the Son of God.
Passover lamb had to be sacrificed is Jesus prepared to be sacrificed.
There is seven days before Passover to eat unleavened bread.
Jesus was follower of Jesus but he did not repent and his life did not be saved. So each Christian or people in the church does means he is real Jesus' follower, real Christian.
How?
Jesus is the Lord, who knows everything, who knows the places and timing. To be a Christian is the grace of God. Pray to the Lord!

Be always on the watch, and pray

Luke 21:20-38
Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down(壓垮) with dissipation(耗散), drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.
The fall of Jerusalem: phase one of the end.
Cosmic upheaval(動盪) and Jesus' return: phase two of the end.
The certainty of these events. 'All' must refer to the warning signs, including the fall of Jerusalem. All the indications are that Christ's coming is near: yet God still delays, giving time for the good news to be made known through out the world. The fig-tree is the first to come into leaf in Palestine.
Why?
All the indications are showing Christ's coming is near, so be careful do not lose our heart into the world. Be always on the watch, and pray to secure our life to see Jesus return.
Jesus will come again with power and great glory.
God's word will never pass away, even heaven and earth will pass away. Trust in God and follow God's word is the best way to everyone.
Dissipation: worn out with busy and burden of life. This is the situation of mine now.
How?
Dear Lord, please help me do not be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life.

When will these things happen? By standing firm you will gain life

Luke 21:1-19
This poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.
The time will come when not one stone will be left on another, every one of them will be thrown down. When will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?
When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened, These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away. Nations will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.
Why?
Jesus looks on the heart of everyone. It is not the amount of devotion, but the heart who concerning.
When and what if the end day? There are many sign will show to us. It is caused by climate change.
Before that they will lay hands on us and persecute Christians. It is on going now. Jesus tell us standing firm we will gain life.
Devotion of the widow is her faith on the Lord, but about us have such faith to the Lord.
How?
Be faithful to the Lord, God is my way and my portion. God will not forsake us when we trust in Him.

He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive

Luke 20:27-47
But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.  Moses calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.
David calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?
Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.
Why?
Resurrection from the dead like angel neither marry not be given in marriage, so Sadducee asked questions were meaningless.

God is God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in different times so God is not the God of the dead, but of the living, God is existing forever.
Beware of the teachers of the law, they like the outside honor and feature, but their heart is dark and ugly, they will be punished most severely.
How?
Let me have the perspective of the future with God's view, not only limited on the matter of this world.

The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone

Luke 20:1-26
The authority of Jesus questioned. John's baptism - was it from heaven, or from men?
The parable of the tenants:
The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone. What is the meaning of this is written.
Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed.
The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately. But they were afraid of the people.
Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Jesus saw through their duplicity and said to them, "Show me a denarius. Whose portrait and inscription are on it? "Caesar's', they replied. "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's."
Why?
People followed and respected John, so when Jesus asked them, they afraid to say the truth. For they afraid the people. And Jesus' authority is from heaven.
Jesus is the capstone, based on him will build church, honor name of the Lord.
Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's. The tenth, the glory and honor are God's.
Selfish mind will obscure our heart and turn away from God, so keep our heart clean is very important.
How?
Please give me a faith and pure heart to follow Jesus!

My house will be a house of prayer

Luke 19:28-48
The triumphal entry: Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!
If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out!
It is written, "My house will be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers. Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were selling.
The chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill Jesus. Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.
Jesus rides into the city on an ass, not a war-horse. He comes on a peace mission. Sadly, Jerusalem will have none of it, missing God's moment and embarking on a course which eventually led to total destruction at the hands of the the Romans in AD 70. The lament in verses 41-44 comes only in Luke.
The purging of the Temple, Mark says, was the next day. Jesus returned each day, holding people spellbound with his teaching, to the frustration of those who wanted him silenced for ever.
Why?
Jesus rides into the city on coat, it means peace with people. It is not war-horse.
Jesus is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Jesus is king of peace and mercy.
Church is house of prayer and it is not for selling, business.
When heart is blind they don't know what are they doing. So they wanted to kill Jesus.
Jesus seriously sees the sins among people and temple area. So I should not tolerate sins in my heart
How?
Dear Lord, Please erase my sins, forgive me and let me be stand firm in front of you!

Good servant: be trustworthy in a very small matter

Luke 19:1-27
But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amountJesus said to him, Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.  For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
Parable of the ten minas: 1)‘Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities', 2)your minas has earned five more. ‘You take charge of five cities.’ 3)Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’
I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away. But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.
Zacchaeus is chief collector for the area, unlike Matthew, who was simply a local collector. But both were social outcasts because of their job. Zacchaeus has made himself a fat living by adding a rake-off to the Roman taxes he was responsible for collecting - fleecing(掏空) his own people for personal advantage, But, like tax collector Matthew and unlike the 'rich ruler'. Zacchaeus does not allow his wealth to become an obstacle. The encounter with Jesus makes a new man of him.
This story is similar to the parable of the talents in Matthew, though here each is loaned the same modest sum. V11 gives the reason for the story. Jesus like the 'nobleman' is about to leave his people for a time. In his absence they must faithfully carry out the work given them to do. It is a case of 'use it or lose it'. For the nobleman returns, with authority, to call his servants to account and to execute summary judgment on his enemies.
Why?
Jesus leave us a period and will come back again, so all of his servant should be fatefully carry out the work given to do. God has mercy on us so what we can return to our master?
How much I have earn much more so I can get better. This is the rule of my Lord. Keep the gospel in myself is lazy Christan.
How?
Be a faithful servant to preach gospel.

What is impossible with men is possible with God

Luke 18:15-43
Anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.
Jesus answered. "No one is good - except God alone.
How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
What is impossible with men is possible with God. To enter the kingdom of God.
Everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.
The triumphal entry: The whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voice for all the miracles they has seen:
Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!
v15-17 To the disciples, the children were a nuisance. But Jesus loved them. v17 makes the same point as the story of the Pharisee and the tax collector. God's kingdom is wide open to all who come in humble trust.
Jesus again predicts his death.
Why?
Like a little child with simply mind and heart to receive Jesus will be blessed.
No one is good in the world, except God alone.
Anyone love money than others won't enter the kingdom of God.
Who can enter the kingdom of God is the mercy of the Lord, we though it is impossible, but to God there is not impossible. Lets come the Lord with faith and pray.
Blessing is one who has and more will be given.
How?
Humble myself to receive kingdom of God and come to the Lord with faith and pray to the Lord!

He who humbles himself will be exalted

Luke 18:1-14
We should always pray and not give up. Even a judge who neither feared God nor cared bout men. He will see the widow gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear he out with her coming! So God being about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night.
The parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector.
Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
God is not like the unjust judge. If this woman can persist with her plea, winning justice against such odds, how much more confident of a hearing and of justice can God's chosen ones' be. They need to pray and not lose heart, even if the answer is delayed.
The Pharisee 'pray' simply to congratulate himself on being better than others, and to rehearse his good deeds. It is the tax collector - the one who finds nothing in himself to be proud of - whom God hears.
Why?
God will listen to his chosen one pray, even it is delayed we need to pray and not lost heart.
Only confess our sins and turn to the Lord that the mercy and grace will come upon us. Humble myself will be exalted by the Lord.
Pharisee has good behavior but they proud with their behavior and ignored their sins in their heart, there is no one righteousness, so they won't be accepted by Jesus.
How?
Don't proud but humble myself for I am a sinner but have grace from the Lord!

The days of the Son of Man

Luke 17:20-37
The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is', or 'There it is', because the kingdom of God is within you.
When? Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating , drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
Remember Lot's wife! Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
Where? Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.
No amount of calculation can fix the time or place of Christ's return in judgment. It will be plain for all to see - no secret. And the world will be caught unprepared, as it was by the flood.
Why?
The kingdom of God is within us to all Christian. Do not pursue any on the world.
When the Jesus comes? No one expected time. Like flash light on the sky, no one know when. When people are eating, drinking... the end of world is come.
Dead body means dead men, without repent for their sins, so there the vultures will gather and the judgment will come to there.
How?
Do I have prepared for the coming days of Jesus? What I should prepare for Jesus coming?

Having faith as small as a mustard seed

Luke 17:1-19
Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.
If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, Be uprooted and planted in the sea and it will obey you.
To be a servant when we have done everything we were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.
Jesus heals ten men with leprosy. One of them, when they were cleaned, came back, praising God in a loud voice. Jesus asked, “Were not all the cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one return to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
To place a hindrance in the way of any believer is a terrible thing. Sin must be opposed, but with a readiness to forgive and go on forgiving. The apostles think they need more faith to do that, but it is not a question of more. Nor must they look for special favors when they have done what they should.
Then new are sent it the priest in order to be declared fit to return to normal society. By going, they demonstrate their faith in Jesus’ word. All are cured, but only one, a despised Samaritan, takes the trouble to say thank you.
Why?
As a servant what we are done to the Lord are our duty, we just feedback God’s mercy to us.
Like the one men with leprosy, we should come back to praise the name of the Lord.
No limit to what kind of men, but with faith and thankgiving in our heart will be blessed from the Lord.
How?
Be a worthy Christian with thanksgiving heart and mind. Be a good servant.

Rich man and Lazarus

Luke 16:14-31
The rich man and Lazarus.
The rich man in hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.
Remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.
If they do not listen to Moses and the prophet, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.
The story of the rich man and Lazarus(the only ‘named’ character in Jesus’ stories is special to Like. Jesus may have taken a popular folk tale, using it in his own way. The scenes are vividly pictured; a rich man with everything, a poor man with nothing. Yet Lazarus goes to bless, his head resting against the great ‘father Abraham’ at the heavenly feast. Justice has been done and there is no changing it. In response to the rich man’s plea. Abraham tells him that if the words of scripture do not persuade his brothers to repent, neither will a man coming back from the dead.
Those words are bound to make Luke’s readers think of Jesus’ own resurrection.
Why?
Look on the future in heaven, it is a eternal destination, compare the life time on earth is short period.
We saw the situation right now does not means always be good, environment will changing. Only God’s word won’t change and stand firm.
God’s word is good and careful to listen and obey will be a blessing.
Hard necks are useless to listen to God’s word, pursues the money is one kind of sin against the Lord.
How?
Praise the Lord and remind myself that blessing is on who follow the word of God.

You cannot serve both God and money

Luke 16 1-13
Whoever can be trusted with little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?
No one can serve tow masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
The story Jesus tells his disciples commends the manager’s astuteness(明達), not his dishonesty. He knows how to make money work for him. The debtors are put in his debt by taking up his offer of large discounts. So his future is secured.
Why?
It is trustworthy matter to everyone wanted to be a good manager. Have to be trusted with little than could be trusted with much.
We can not serve two master, so serve the God is better than serve money, for money will gone soon.
How?
How much money I can spend in the future? In the kingdom of God?

Rejoicing over one sinner who repents and returns

Luke 15:1-32
There is rejoicing in the presence of the angles of God over one sinner who repents.
There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and I’d found. So they began to celebrate.
My son, the father said, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.
In marked contrast to the serious tone of chapter14 come these three stories about God’s Joy in finding the lost. Like the shepherd, like the woman,,,,,, like the father of the ‘prodigal son’, God never stops caring. He goes out for his way to welcome them back, and every one who is ‘found and returns is a cause for celebration.
The Pharisees and scribes who find fault with Jesus for welcoming ‘bad’ people are like the elder son in the story. Unlike God, they show neither love nor pity for those who fail to meet their standard.
Why?
God like people repents and turn to God. It is more important then Pharisees show neither love nor pity for those who fail to meet their standard.
You are always with me and everything I have is yours. Older son have everything of his father, so he has much more than younger son, but younger son came back is joyful thing. His life be saved. Life is more important than property. Older ones is absent one of the celebrate banquet.
How?
Rejoice with the Lord for a new life is saved, repeated for his sins. rejoice!

Whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple

  Luke 14:15-35
God’s banquet, only those who are willing come may get a taste of God’s banquet.
If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children brothers and sisters - yes, even their own life - such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
Those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciple.
Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil not for the manure pike; it is thrown out.
Jesus’ story if the ‘great banquet’ is triggered by one of the dinner guests. In order to eat bread in God’s kingdom it is necessary only to say yes when the invitation comes. But those who rate other things more important will exclude themselves, with no second chance.
Great crowds are following Jesus, unaware of what it will mean to be his true followers Loyalty to Jesus must outweigh all other, quite proper, claims. (He is not saying ‘hate your family!’ But ‘love me more’. No one can follow him unless they are prepared for all that this means. They need to reckon up. Can they afford to follow? One the other hand can they afford to refuse?
Why?
To be follower of Jesus have to pay effort, take his own cross to follow Him. Love Jesus more than his family and others. It doesn’t mean hate his family, but love God more than any other.
God’s banquet is invited to everyone, no matter who you are, if you will you may be the guest of God.
Do I really see the great banquet of God in heaven. Please let me be a good follower.
How?
Dear Lord
! Please open my eyes to see the greatness of kingdom of God and carry my cross to follow you!

Real generosity does not look for return

Luke 14:1-14
Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not? But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him on his way.
For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the cripples, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.
V1-6,  on this way to dinner, confronted by human need, Jesus heals a man swollen with ‘dropsy’, even though it is the sabbath.
His question, ‘Is it lawful? And ‘Wouldn’t you...’ leave his critics speechless.
V7-11: guests were carefully seated according to rank and status, but everyone wants a seat at the top table, Jesus commends a genuinely humble spirit, not false modesty.
Real generosity does not look for return.
Why?
Jesus is the Lord of Sabbath, Jesus let us free from the law with love and mercy.
Be humble so will be exalted.
Have mercy to others do not look for return. God will repay us in heaven.
So focus on the treasure on heaven and mission of the Lord.
How?
Be humble and give others do not look for return.

Those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last

Luke 13:22-35
Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?
Make every effort to enter through the narrow doorbecause many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets. “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!
People will come from east and westand north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of GodIndeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.  Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Jesus does not answer the question directly. Don't ask 'how many'. Just make sure you seek entrance to God's kingdom. Many will try, yet fail. And there will be surprises. Time is limited.
V 31-35: Jesus is not bothered by Herod's threats. He knows what lies ahead, and grieves at the fate of the city what will destroy him.
Why?
Don't ask how many may enter the kingdom of God, but do your best to enter the gate of salvation. kingdom.
Drank and ate with Jesus don't means the followers of Jesus, but come in the name of the Lord, repent our own sins and let Jesus as our Lord in my life.
Do not hesitate to enter to the gate of kingdom of God. The time is limited.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, no one can know Jesus is the son of God, except through the Holy Spirit.
Those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last. Those who were followed Jesus may stop struggling the goal of mission of the Lord, the the last one who struggling pursue the goal of the Lord so he may enter the kingdom of the Lord in heaven.
How?
How about situation of my life? Do I stop at previous situation? Don't hesitate to make every effort to get the goal of Jesus gives me.

But unless you repent, you too will all perish

Luke 13:1-21
I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.
You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?
What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? It is like a mustard seedIt is like yeastIt grew and became a tree.
Why?
Everyone will be death for we all are sinner, but someone met some disaster or
tragedy, unless we repent, all of us perish.
Sabbath day is for setting freedom to those who bounded person.
Kingdom of God like seed of mustard and yeast, will grew bigger, at beginning looks very small. So do not frustrate at gospel at beginning period.
How?
Repent always, be humble for all of us are sinner.

Be ready for action for freedom is coming

Luke 12:35-59
You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed!
Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don't know how to interpret this present time? Why don't you judge for yourselves what is right?
Be ready for action; for freedom of movement at work the long tunic(外衣) was drawn up through a belt.
The good news of the gospel will run through the earth like fire. But first Jesus must plumb the depths of suffering.
Why?
Be ready for action for freedom is coming, salvation is coming, Son of Man will come soon. Do my responsibility from God.
God's mercy has given to me much so I have to do more to others, love others for God's loves me.
Gospel bring peace to people, but before it comes true, there are many fire and fight rose up.  And gospel will run through the earth like fire, no one can quench it.
Jesus has shown many miracles but men are not understand who he is and interpret what it's means. They will lost the chance to get the salvation.
Jesus was distressed for his mission has not be done, and many people didn't know what their situation was.
How?
Am I ready for the coming of God? Be ready like a good servant in house of the Lord.

Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees **

Luke 12:1-34
Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.
Whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God.
Do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.
You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about itBut seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
A warning to the disciples about the danger of saying one thing and doing another leads into general teaching about the coming judgment, and how it should affect life here and now. It is essential to be prepared, to get priorities right. Much of this section is parallel in Matthew.
Jesus intention is not to frighten but to reassure. But there is a right fear of God that holds people steady against other fears.
Only Luke records the story of the rich but foolish man bent on amassing money and all that it can buy, instead of being 'rich towards God.'
Why?
the yeast of the Pharisees:The Pharisees were devoted to their study of the Mosaic law, and Antipas was anything but devout (see Mark 6:14–29). Christ may be referring to Herod and the Pharisees’ contentment with Roman rule. Herod enjoyed political power because of Rome, and though many Jews wanted Rome overthrown, the Pharisees were basically fine with the Romans as long as Caesar allowed them to study the law in peace.
However, contentment with Roman governance does not fully capture what Jesus means by leaven. Unbelief in Christ is the leaven of the Pharisees and Herod, unbelief motivated in part by fear of Roman reprisal against the Jews if Jesus were acclaimed as Messiah. But their unbelief was ultimately due to their hard hearts.
The yeast of the Pharisees is narrow-minded religious exclusives, it is sectarianism. It is the attitude that says only those who believe and behave like us are saved, everyone else is damned or at least of no consequence. (Of course it’s not only religious people who have those sorts of attitudes; the secular equivalent would be extreme tribalism or nationalism.) The yeast of the Pharisees makes people more concerned about who is ‘in’ and who is ‘out’ that just trying to get on and do the will of God. It makes people continually define themselves over against others: it makes them assume for instance that the main thing about being Catholic is not being Protestant.
Do not worry about our life, God will support us when we are seeking His kingdom.
My treasure should be in heaven, when I am focus on the world will lost my faith and grace of the Lord.

How?
Don't worry I have not enough money or lack anything for the Lord is my God will support what I need. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
