Luke 13:22-35
Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets. “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!
People will come from east and westand north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Jesus does not answer the question directly. Don't ask 'how many'. Just make sure you seek entrance to God's kingdom. Many will try, yet fail. And there will be surprises. Time is limited.
V 31-35: Jesus is not bothered by Herod's threats. He knows what lies ahead, and grieves at the fate of the city what will destroy him.
Why?
Don't ask how many may enter the kingdom of God, but do your best to enter the gate of salvation. kingdom.
Drank and ate with Jesus don't means the followers of Jesus, but come in the name of the Lord, repent our own sins and let Jesus as our Lord in my life.
Do not hesitate to enter to the gate of kingdom of God. The time is limited.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, no one can know Jesus is the son of God, except through the Holy Spirit.
Those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last. Those who were followed Jesus may stop struggling the goal of mission of the Lord, the the last one who struggling pursue the goal of the Lord so he may enter the kingdom of the Lord in heaven.
How?
How about situation of my life? Do I stop at previous situation? Don't hesitate to make every effort to get the goal of Jesus gives me.
