John 16:1-13
Jesus told his disciples that they will suffer the persecution. Jesus did not tell them at the first time because he is with them, now Jesus is going to one who sent him, so that they will no go astray.
Jesus said "It is for our good that He is going away. Unless He go away the counselor will not come to us. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and h judgement.
In regards to sin, because men do not believe in Jesus; in regards to righteousness, because Jesus am going to the Father where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgement, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
Holy Spirit comes, he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell us what is yet to come, he will guide us into all truth.
Why?
The followers of Jesus will suffer persecution for the world do not know Jesus and the Father, they think they are offering a service to God. They are living in darkness.
The Counselor, Holy Spirit tells us and guide us into truth.
Jesus told us to be his disciples have to walk the same way as Jesus walked. We have peace but this peace is different as the world gives. All these persecution or suffering are short and let us learn more about the Lord.
How?
Holy Spirit is the teacher of our life, to know where is the right way and to know what is the sin righteousness and the judgement.
