Micah 2:1-13
Woe to those who plan iniquity to those who plot evil on their beds!
The Lord is planning disaster against this people, from which you cannot save yourselves. No one in the assembly of the Lord to divide the land by lot.
God's word do good to him whose ways are upright.
Get up, go away! for this is not your resting place, because it is defiled, it is ruined, beyond all remedy. Those are false prophets.
The Lord promised to gather all of people of Jacob, bring together the remnant of Israel. God will be their king pass through the gate before them.
Why?
Those with power and influence are all on the make, and not fussy about the means they use. So property is seized and families made destitute; and the preacher is told this is none of his business. Far from promoting justice, the nation's headers 'hate good and love evil.'
Evil men planning their iniquity, but the Lord is planning disaster against them. They do not know what will happen to them.
God's word do good to him whose ways are upright, so to those doing evil won't listen to God's word.
The Lord let those people do evil things a while, they will not receive any remedy for their own sins.
How?
God's word do good to me for I obey the command of the Lord. Don't too worry about the evil doers, the Lord is planning disaster against them.

Hear, you peoples , all of you; Pay attention, O earth -- Micah
Micah 1:1-16
The word of the Lord that came to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, king of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
Hear, you peoples , all of you; Pay attention, O earth, and all that is in it.
Let the Lord God be a witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.
All this is for the transgression of Jacob and for the sins of the house of Israel.
What is the transgression of Jacob? Is it not Samaria? And what is the high place of Judah? Is it not Jerusalem?
The Lord announced the disaster to Samaria and Judah.
Why?
Do I hear the word or warning from the Lord?
How?

Speak always be gracious, seasoned with salt
Colossians 4:2-18
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.
Let speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
To declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which Paul is in prison.
It is good to find Mark reinstated after the trouble he once caused between Paul and Barnabar.
Luke stayed with Paul to the end. Aristarchus, who though a Jew came from Greece, was another longstanding companion of Paul's and had been involved in the riot at Ephesus.
Why?
Prayer for our self and for the needy persons with thanksgiving and being watchful, for we are easy to be lazy and pray the same thing repeat the same words.
Paul was in prison at Rome when he wrote this letter.
The new life is one of prayer and thanksgiving to God.
Speak with salt that is the role of Christian in the world, let the word be purified and preserved for the good, influence others gradually to the right behavior with the truth.

Whatever your do, work heartily, as for the Lord
Colosians 3:18-25
The rules of Christians households.
Wives submit to husband, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands love wive, and do not be harsh with them. Children obey parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Father do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
Slave obey in everything those who are your earthly master, not by way of eye-service, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
Whatever your do, work heartily, as for the Lord. You will receive the inheritance as your reward.
We are serving the Lord Christ. There is no partiality.
Why?
Paul's word shapes our thinking.
Home and household are transformed by outgoing, unselfish love in every relationship.
How wonderful family living style as everyone obey God's word to do their job and fear the Lord.
How?
Do everything with love, unselfish, work heartily as for the Lord. Serve for the Lord not for the men.

Do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus
Colossians 3:5-17
Put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving each other as the Lord has forgiven you.

Died with Christ in God and have been raised with Christ
Colossians 3:1-4
Rules for Holy Living.
We have been raised with Christ, set out hearts on things above. Set your minds on thing above, not on earthly things.
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Why?
There may be good sense in rules, renewed in the likeness of Christ, taking on his character.
Died with Christ to all sins, been raised with Christ to all good things.
We are not belong to this world anymore, so I should set my heart on things above, sometimes we have to deal with things on the world, but set the priority to the first for the God's.
How?
Am I have died with Christ and have risen with Christ either? Now living in my heart is not me but is the Christ Jesus. Resting in Jesus has peace and faith.

Don't go into great detail about what one has seen
Colossians 2:16-23
These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. These are drink, eat, religious festival, New moon celebration or Sabbath day.
Don't let anyone delights in false humility, worship of angels. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his nonspiritual mind puffs him up with idles notion. He has lost connection with the Head.
Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
Why?
By his death the Jewish law has been superseded: the shadow has given way to reality. "Then why behave as though you were still living the life of the world?"
Forsake the regulations that may lead us false humility or meaningless behavior to our life. Don't goes into great detail about what has seen. It is the feature of this world, it is not related to the reality of Christ. Jesus is dead, so we also dead with him in this world. He has risen, so we have new life from Christ, we are free from the sins.
How?
Do I follow the regulations with what heart and mind in present of the Lord? May my heart and my mind focus at Jesus Christ. What I have seen doesn't mean the truth, but rely on how says in Bible.

In Christ alone
Colossians 2:8-15
Be careful about hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form and you have been given fullness in Christ.
In Him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, circumcision done by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.
Triumphing over them by the cross.
Tradition in Jewish are 1) to practise circumcision, 2) to observe the Jewish regulations about food and drink 3) to keep the laws about regular worship, no only at major festivals but also on the sabbath.
Why?

In Christ we are given fullness in spiritual and bodily form.
Heart circumcision is more important for the behavior will change to follow Jesus.

How?

Colossians 2:1-7
May they be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God,namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasure of wisdom and knowledge. So no one may be deceived by fine-sounding arguments
Paul is delight to see how orderly you are and how firm your faith in Chris is.
Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with the thankfulness.
Why?
It makes all Paul's struggle and effort to preach Christ to everyone worthwhile.
False argument was filtering into the Colossian church from various quarters.

THe mystery is Christ in you
Colossians 1:24-29
The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
We proclaim him, admonishing告誡and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
Paul rejoice in what was suffered , and he full up his flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sack of his body- church , and he labor, struggling with all his energy.
Why?
The apostle's job is to make God's message known.
The philosophers hint at secrets, at deep things known only to the initiated. This is God's open secret: 'Christ - in you'. A share in God's own glory for every Christian! This is a 'secret' worth knowing.
Lacking: Paul applies to himself the same patten, of suffering on behalf of others, that was worked out on the cross. He is not adding to that work:Christ's saving work is complete.
But in the overlapping of the ages, between Christ's resurrection and his return, God's new people will suffer as their Master did.
What is lacking in regarding to Christ's affliction for the sack of his body - church. It is the love of initiate.
How?
Christ is in me, so I won't worry about other suffering or threaten from evil. Shell I serve the Lord at Lanya church?

Faith, love that spring from the hope-- Colossians
Colossians 1:1-8

God is my strong deliverer
Psalm 140:1-13
Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men; protect me from men of violence.
Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from men of violence.
O Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, who shields my head in the day of battle--do not grant the wicked their desires, O Lord; do not let their plans succeed, or they will become proud.
Let the heads of those who surround me be covered with the trouble their lips have caused.
I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.
Surely the righteous will praise your name and the upright will live before you.
Why?
Do not curse our enemies, but let them be cover with the trouble their lips have caused.
The psalmist is in real trouble from the plotting of violent people and from their venomous tongues. He prays that God will guard him and punish them, in the confident knowledge that God is for the right and implacable opposed to evil.
The Lord really listened our prayer when I turn to Him. He is a living God, he cares our prayer and out situation. He is my strong deliverer.
How?
Honest serve the Lord, praise to the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord.
Listened my prayer:Thank the Lord gave me a better living place at Tainan that I have prayed to the Lord.

See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:1-24
O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Where can I Go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
All the days ordained (注定)for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Do I hate those who hate you, O Lord, and abhor those who rise up against you?
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
This psalm is concerned with God's all-knowingness and 'everywhere-presentness', not in an abstract, but in a highly personal way.
If God knows everything, he knows me through and through, even my thoughts.
I will align myself with him in the flight against evil. Let him search out and deal with all that is wrong in me.
Why?
The Lord knows me everything. I praise the Lord for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. It is not because what I can do, or who I am.
Hate those who hast God, abhor those who against God. We love people with love but also with the righteousness of God.
My destiny has been written in the book of God.
How?
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Praise the Lord
O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me
Psalm 138:1-8
God and me: I walk in the midst of trouble, your preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me.
Prayer: May all the kings of the earth praise you, O Lord, when they hear the words of your mouth. May they sing of the ways of your mouth, for the glory of the Lord is great.
Do not abandon the works of your hands - the loved one, us.
Praise God: for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.
God has answered prayer. Once again he has shown his faithful love.
He is great and high above, yet he cares for the lowly.

tit-for-tat, 'an eye for an eye'
Psalm 137:1-9
How can we sing the song of the Lord while in a foreign land?
If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill.
May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not consider Jerusalem my highest joy.
How can the exiles sing to God in the foreign land of Babylon?
The old joyful melodies bring a lump to the throat.
Why?
Memories of the terrible destruction of their city and Temple overwhelm the. The pain of it comes out in a cry for vengeance: tit-for-tat, 'an eye for an eye'
The Israelites had no doubt witnessed just such atrocities 暴行 committed in Jerusalem by the Babylonian army.
How?
Remember the sat history is good if makes them repent and return to the Lord. So am I if I don't forget what the Lord have done to me.

Sing for joy and keep God's statutes
Psalm 132:1-18
David swore an oath to the Lord to find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.
David prayed to the Lord, May your priests be clothed with righteousness; may your saints sing for joy. The Lord swore an oath to David a sure oath that he will not revoke: I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for joy.
If your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne or ever and ever.
This 'royal' psalm reflects the bringing of the Ark to the city and Temple.
v17 points to the future: there is a great king yet to come.

Stilled and quieted my soul
Psalm 131:1-3
My heart is not proud, O Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.
But I have stilled and quieted my soul, like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel , put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore.
The psalmist has put aside all arrogance and conceit. He is content to rest quietly in the Lord, like a child in its mother's arms. This is one of the Bible's loveliest mother-image of God.

No ambition to great thing but still and quiet my soul for my hope is in the Lord. Don't think I can make great things so my heart will be not proud, my eyes are not haughty. It is the Lord can do great thing, and under the blessing of the Lord I can do great things.

Let me be a blessing man to others
Psalm 129:1-8
The blessing of the Lord be upon you! We bless you in the name of the Lord! - best blessing to others.
Let Israel now say - Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me.
The Lord is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked. May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward!
Why?
