2 Chronicles 23:1-21
In the seventh year Jehoiada showed his strength. He made a covenant with the commanders of units of a hundred. They gathered the Levites and the heads of Israelite families from all the towns. The whole assembly made a covenant with the king at the temple of God.
Jehoiada than made a covenant that he and the people and the king would be the Lord's people.
After six years the usurper篡位 is overthrown. The Chronicler stresses the role of priests and Levites in restoring the rightful monarch 君主 to the throne.
Why?
Made a covenant is the agreement to each others in one goat. It leads people have the strength to make rightful things.
God has made covenant to those who follow Jesus Christ through his name and obey his commandments.
How?
I have made covenant with the Lord to serve Him and honor his holy name in my life for the Lord loves me.
