Judges 14:10-20
Samson gave riddle to her wife's 30 friends, but they could not answer within seven days, they warning Samon's wife to burn her and her father's house if she does not ask Samson the answer.
Finally Samson told her the answer on the seven day, and she told them, for she cried the whole seven days of the feast.
The riddle is "Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet."
The answer is "What is sweeter than honey? What is stronger than a lion?"
Samson said to them, “If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have solved my riddle.”
He went down to Ashkelon, struck down thirty of their men, stripped them of everything and gave their clothes to those who had explained the riddle.
Why?
Samson's marriage is formally arranged by his parents, but instead of the bride returning to Samson's home, as she would normally do, she stays with her family and her husband visits her, bringing gifts. Because of the deceit over the riddle there is no consummation at the end of the seven day feast. A hasty second marriage to the best man is an attempt to lessen(減少) the brides' disgrace.
How?
No matter good or bed things happened, God is the sovereign Lord!
