Daniel 11:21-35
Because an end will still come at the appointed time.
At the appointed time he will invade the South again, but this time the outcome will be different from what it was before.
With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.
Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.
Verse 21-24 aptly(恰當地) portray his character and policies. Through the treachery(背信棄義) of Ptolemy's own men. Antiochus briefly gained control of Egypt in 173. On his return he attacked Jerusalem and slaughtered 80,000 Jews. The next time he attacked Egypt he was thwarted(受挫) by the Roman fleet.
He turned on Jerusalem again and desecrated the Temple. He was aided and abetted(教唆) by some Jews, but others refused to compromise their faith, though they died for it. Judas Maccabacus instigated(策動) a successful revolt(反叛), so helping the faithful.
Why?
Every event and story will come at the appointed time. God knows it and have arranged it.
Prayer may delay some of the time but the destination are defined and plotted by the Lord.
How?
The appointed time is control by the Lord.
