Ephesians 1:1-14
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
God has poured out his love on us, blessing on blessing. Paul catches his breath in wonder at the very thought of it:'Let us give thanks...Let us praise God... Let us praise his glory' verse 3-14 are one long sentence on Greek!
From the very beginning God determined to share his spiritual riches and glory with us - in Christ. Christ stands at the very heart of God's plan. As we believe in him, his death sets us free; we can be forgiven. We can also share his new, risen life. We are made one with him, part of him. And in him we too are caught up in God's great world-plan as we live to is glory.
Why?
It is God's grace to be his sons, we are be loved through his blood in accordance with the riches of God's grace!
First heard gospel, then believed, we are marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. so we are not alone, we can not do anything like before, we are the messenger of the Jesus Christ.
How?
Praise be to the Lord, we are made one with him. In him we are caught up in God's great world-plan as we live is glory.
