Psalm 117-118
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me. He is my helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.
The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
I will give you thanks , for you answered me; you have become my salvation.
The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
117:The psalmist calls all nations to praise the Lord. I his love and constant care for Israel he shows his purpose for every nation.
118:The hymn was sung in processing by king, priests and people. As they approach the Temple, the king recalls the victory won with God's help.
The procession, carrying branches, moves from the gateway to the altar.
Why?
The Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes: The despise nation of Israel has become the great power. By Jesus' day Israel, in turn, had forfeited(沒收) their privilege position.
God is my helper, he is with me, so I will not be afraid.
God is my strength, my song and my salvation. God gives me faith so I have strength, I will praise to the Lord for he gives me triumph, God saves me in every situation.
How?
Give thanks to the Lord, trust in the Lord insted of man. God is my strength, my song and my salvation.
