Jeremiah 12:1-17
Jeremiah's complaint:
You are always on their lips but far from their hearts. How long will the land lie parched and the grass in every field be withered?
God's answer:
If you have raced with men on foot and the they have worm you out. how can you compete with horses?
They will sow wheat but reap thorns; they will wear themselves out but gain nothing/.So bear the shame of your harvest because of the Lord's fierce anger.
But after I uproot them, I will again have compassion and will bring each of them back to his own inheritance and his own country.
But if any nation does not listen, I will completely uproot and destroy it, declares the Lord.
The discovery leads Jeremiah to question God about the way evil people get on in the world. He is neither the first, nor the last, to puzzle over this.
In God tells him there is worse to come! Nonetheless, he will punish, and afterward restore.
Why?
People always know God on their lips, but far from heart. Show out faithfulness on our behavior.
How?
Practice our faith in our daily life. Asked the wisdom from the Lord!
