Jesus was baptized

 Matthew 3:13-17

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.  And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

The washing' of baptism symbolized a radical cleaning up of a person's life - wiping the slate clean of all previous wrong - a return to God. John's baptism was once-only. Jesus had no need of this, and the rest of the New Testament makes plain. He had no need to be baptized in order to be forgiven because he ' had no sin'. Yet it is right. 'for now' because Jesus must do 'all that God requires' to save the world. So he steps into the River Jordan, accepting his destiny, to receive God's commission and blessing.

Matthew has already shown that Jesus is the Messiah. David's son. Jesus is affirmed as God's own Son. Now his feet are set on the path of ' the Servant whose mission is to bear the sins of the people'

Why?

It is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness: obey the word of the Lord is righteousness. The laws are to do it, but it is not to judge others.

Jesus after baptized then Jesus started serving his mission.

The vision after Jesus baptized shows Jesus is the Son of God. And the Holy Spirit is with Jesus.

耶穌為什麼受洗?和我們有什麼關係。施洗約翰的洗禮是悔改的洗，願意降服。此盡諸般的義為公義，是神所喜悅的。讓神做王，耶穌受洗不是在悔改，主要在順服於主。悔改是心中的意念、決定，而且要公開宣告，讓神做我的王。所以不僅心裏降服，並且要公開宣告，表示很重要。這是榮耀的事，喜悅的事，和人們分享的事。

耶穌受洗和我們有什麼關係?耶穌交出權柄，反而得到權柄。更確認耶穌是神兒子的身份。凡願意降服在神之下，得到神兒子的身份。交出身份給神，反而神賜我們權柄，地位提昇，價值提高，得神兒女的地位，所以要公開宣告且在生活中結出果子。交出生命的主權，反而是得榮耀。
