Fear the Lord and respect anointed one; 2 Samuel

2 Samuel 1:1-16
David hears of Saul's death. The reported is the son of an alien, an Amalekite. He said he killed Saul for Saul asked him," Stand over me and killme! I am in the throes of death."
David and all the men with him took hold of their clothes and tore them when they heard this news. They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the army of the Lord and the house of Israel, because the had fallen by the sword.
David said to him, "Your blood be on your own head. Your own mouth testified against you when you said, ' I killed the Lord's anointed.'"
It was 100 miles from Gilboa to Ziklag.
Why?
The Amalekite's story differs from the account of Saul's death in 1 Samuel 31. If he twisted the facts hoping for a reward, he did not know David.
After the Amalekite raid on Ziklag David had no cause to love this race. Nonetheless it was not racial discrimination but his strong conviction that the king's life was sacred that let to the death sentence.
David loved and respected the God's anointed one. David fears the Lord.
How?
Learn from Davie that even he is a victor in the war, but he fears the Lord, he respects an anointed one.
