2 Samuel 12:1-31
After the child of Uriah's wife bore to David was dead, David arose from the earth and washed and anointed himself and changed his clothes. And he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. He then went to his own house. And he asked, they set food before him, and he ate.
David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her, and she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. And the Lord loved him.
Despite David's anguished prayer the child dies, nor is there yet any resurrection hope to comfort him in his loss.
But this is not the end of the relationship with Bathsheba, nor is she rejected: for out of the grief and the comforting comes another life, and the Lord loved the boy.
All this time David's army has been campaigning against Ammonites. Joab has set things up for David to come in at the head of his troops and capture Rabbah/Amman.
A talent of gold is about 30 kg/66lb.
Why?
For the Lord loved David he turned to God after his sin was rebuked by Nathan. Even after his son was dead, his first thing is go into house of the Lord and worship the Lord.
When one has sin and turn to God with his heart, God will forgive him totally, but he has to pay the punishment for his sin.
How?
Am I alway set the Lord at the first priority? anytime and any situation.
