2 Samuel 9:1-13
David kept his promise to Jonathan, he took care Mephibosheth life. Restore to Mephibosheth all the land that belonged to his grandfather Saul, and he will always eat at David's table like one of David's son.
Ziba and all his family and the servant are to farm the land for Mephiboshenth and bring in the crops, so that his master's grandson may be provided for.
The king's summons terrified Mephibosheth. But David's motive are wholly good, 'for Jonathan's sake'. He restore the family estates and treats the young man as his own son.
Why?
V10 This sounds contradictory, but being at court would mean an increase in general expense, even if meals were provided.
God keep covenant to us, so as we keep loving the Lord!
How?
David obeyed his covenant with his friend Jonathan!
