Jeremiah 28:1-17
But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the Lord only if his prediction comes true.
This is what the Lord says: You have broken a wooden yoke, but in its place you will get a yoke of iron.
Then Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet,"Listen, Hananiah! The Lord has not sent you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies. I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. This very year you are going to die, because you have preached rebellion against the Lord." In the 7th month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.Hananiah claiming to have God's message, flatly contradicts Jeremiah breaks the yoke and tells the people what they want to hear. But time proves the truth of Jeremiah's words.
Why?
Any prophet who falsely claims to speak for God is under sentence of death.
For God is holy and everyone should fear the Lord.
True or false will be verified by the time, so say the truth will be good.
How?
God is the Lord and righteousness, so his servant should be honest and say the truth, for we are his sons.
