Fulfill my words against this city

Jeremiah 39:1-18
Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given these orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard: Take him and look after him; don’t harm him but do for him whatever he asks.
While Jeremiah had been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him: “Go and tell Ebed-Melek the Cushite, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I am about to fulfill my words against this city—words concerning disaster, not prosperity. At that time they will be fulfilled before your eyes. But I will rescue you on that day, declares the Lord; you will not be given into the hands of those you fear. I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the Lord.’"
Jeremiah's terrible vision becomes a reality. God's warnings finally give way to judgment. God does not lose sight of individuals.
Ebed-melech's life is saved. And the Babylonian king takes thought for the prophet. So Jeremiah is the only one to have any say in his own future. Offered a pace of honor at the Babylonian court, he chooses instead to throw in his lot with the have-nots, let behind in the land of Judah. 他反而選擇與無家可歸的人一起.
Why?
The word of God through Jeremiah said is becomes reality. King of Judah and his official were killed and lost their honor. But for Jeremiah trust in the Lord so the Lord saved Jeremiah and return from the court of guard.
Jeremiah have freedom to anywhere and may have what he wants, but he choose live among his people, they are poor.
God's word is worthy to trust and obey. Because God's word is the power and has sovereignty.
Change my way, change my mind and change my comfortable situation to be a good solider of the Lord.
How?
Listen and change myself to be a good follower of Christ.
