Jeremiah 23:23-24:10
Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?
You must not mention a message from the Lord's again, because each one's word becomes their own message. So you distort the words of the living God.
Vision of two baskets of figs, one is good and another is bad. Good one means the exiled people God will be with them, but the bad one is those who stay in Judah will suffer sword, famine and plague. Shows the way of God prepared.
With such a message, it is not surprising that Jeremiah encountered bitter hatred from the priests and prophets - as Jesus did.
The date of Jeremiah's vision of the two baskets of figs in front of God's Temple is some time after 597. The exiles are the cream of God's people. Ezekiel was among these first captives; Daniel and his friends, were in Babylon earlier still.
And God is shaping a future for them. For those who remain in Judah there is no future but destruction. Yet through Jeremiah God still perseveres(持之以恆) with his bad figs.
Why?
Do not mention a message from the Lord's because it have to careful to acknowledge it is very important matter. We can't be a liar before the Lord.
God knows what says on their mouth, all of us have to face the judge in front of the Lord at the last day.
There is two way, one is prosper another one is destruction, it is the way God prepared, it is not the way people likes.
How?
Knowing and mediating heart of the Lord and understand the way of the Lord.
